Whoever says that the MC is the last spartan obviously has not read First Strike.......there are four other Spartans, but they don't make an appearance in Halo 2.
1. Matchmaking matches you with people based on OVERALL rank, not rank for gametype. Nothing pisses me off more than being a 13 in Double Team, and going against an 11 and finding out he/she is really a 30. Lame.
2. I love the weapons in Halo 2 much more than in Halo. I don't think much needs to be changed here, maybe be able to dual wield with the sword. That would be fun, sword in one hand, SMG in the other? I've always loved the fact that the weapon seem more realistic than fantasy. I would also like to see single/burst/full auto modes for the BR. That would be ****. Also crank up the frag grenades a little. Fuel Rod gun should have made it to multiplayer just for the sake of something that looks different, they could dumb it down to the same speed/power of the rockets.
3. Vehicles! We need vehicles that can pack in more than 3 people. They should bring back the quad idea but do it with tank treads instead. Also, and this goes back to the "more people in vehicles" part, some way to move infantry via air like a pelican or something that carries a driver and 4 or 5 people. that way you can deliver a squad into a base during CTF. An updated version of the Warthog that is more like an armored humvee, with a turret in the middle and maybe a tailgunner position. Covenant vehicles need to shoot more like the Spectre does, that would be more practicle. Wraith tank is boobs, just needs a couple plasma cannons on the front, make them weak, but at least a little up close defense when someone rushes you (kinda like the machine gun on the scorpion).
4. Turrets. Different kinds. Rail turrets, rocket turrets, machine gun turrets, plasma, maybe a sort of mortar/grenade turret too (not really lob them, more straight fire, but projectiles bounce kinda like the brute shot).
5. More models, Spartan, Hell Jumper (**** yes!), Elite, Brute, whatever.
6. More ways to customize your character. More colors, more places to change color (so you can make CAMO), more and different logos to put on armour. Maybe different helmet types, but not too involved there. It would be fun to be able to change the color of your visor on Spartan/Hell Jumper.
7. More interactive environments. I really like the gate and bridge in Zanzibar, and the gates in Containment, plus the teleporter in Relic. More stuff like that, but make it actually impact gameplay (once again like the teleporter in Relic). It would be nice to have a senario where you can blast through and entire wall to get into a base instead of going through the front door. Maybe even blast through the ceiling or floor!
8. New gametypes. CTF is great, Assault not so great, but not bad. Territories, GREAT! Don't really have any suggestions there, so we'll see what comes out.
I'll leave more when I can think of other things, but this seems like a pretty good start.
