It would've been interesting if you can fight the Gravemind. Why is it that he only appeared in Halo 2 and not 3? The only times I notice Gravemind in Halo 3 is when I hear his voice and the screen goes dark green (which is kinda ridiculous).
I've been playing H3 sinc ethe game came out. Yesterday I heard something for the 1st time. Apparently some "generals" have said that if u win a ranked match and instead of backing out quickly (pressing B), stay there while the counter runs down, when the counter reaches 4, back out. Supposedly this helps u rank faster. They swear by this and Ive heard it from a couple of people. It sounds ridiculous to me. I'm wondering if any of you heard about this.

I'm a General and I have to say that is BS. People have been "finding" ways to rank up faster since Halo 2. The only way to have it easier is to derank in order to play against people who ain't Brigadiers/Generals. But its still pointless because you're better off playing to win instead of deranking. And there is always the chance you get matched with people doing the same thing, lol.
I am trying really hard to like this game, but it's just not working out for me.
I got this game in 2007, and played through the first mission on co-op with a friend, neither were impressed and we didn't touch it anymore. Yesterday I tried playing the game again, thinking almost two years could have changed my mind.
Straight off I hated the fact that there wasn't any aim button, and only "hip-firing", it was perfectly fine for games like GoldenEye, but in todays FPS' I prefer to aim (ala CoD 4). I played along until I got to the "wharf" area of the first mission, and being bored beyond belief I gave up.
Going back for one last try now....

Meh, not having the ability to "aim" has never bothered me that much. I have always enjoyed Halo, and am looking forward to Reach and ODST.
I will admit, however, that I only find Third-Person shooters fun if you can actually aim.
Games like Halo, though... Hell, I rarely even use the scope, unless I am sniping, which I rarely do. Almost always use the Battle Rifle, never use the scope.

Eh, with the way Halo was set up, I don't think an actual Gravemind battle would really work. Mainly his size would be the broblem, you'd need a weapon like the Hammer of Dawn from Gears of War to fight it, or you Bungie would have needed to add weak-points, which really wouldn't have worked for Halo.
Otherwise, you would have this battle with a giant flood-form, which would be un-realisticly easy, even if you could only harm it with weapons like the Spartan Lazer or the Rocket Launcher/Fuel Rod Cannon... Maybe if you could drive a scarab, but you can't.

Pssh, this coming from a Gears of War fanboy. Which, that game, other than having entertaning gameplay and body-parts flying everywhere, does not have a good campaign... Well, Gears 2 anyway, atleast Gears 1 didn't try to have a dramatic and deep story, so it didn't fail like Gears 2 did. Storytelling is not Epic's strong point... anyway... back to topic...
Steven Spielberg got Halo'd.
