Okay, I’m going to explain why I ‘think’ that the Deltora Series takes over a period over 3-4 years.😄
Here we go:
📖Quote: “Yet it was not so long – just a few months – and much had been achived in that time. Four gems now glowed in the Belt of Deltora….” (Page 2 of Dread Mountain.)
Since it had been as quoted a few months which can mean around 2 to even 4 months since Lief, Jasmine and Barda had started their journey. With this evidence it is clear that they possibly took about 7-10 months… depending on side-tracks and travel distance between gem locations, to complete their quest.
So Lief is about….. 16 and 10 months, when he discovers his true identity.
Series 2, probally starts about 4-6 weeks after Series 1. Giving about a month and a half or perhaps even more.
It would take about 4-5 weeks to reach the final Isle in the emerald cavern, before Lief, Jasmine and Barda enter the Shadowlands.
That would make Lief and Jasmine 17, before they enter the Shadowlands.
Series 3 “The Sister Series” would probally start about 6-7 months later or mabye even a year, as Marlien is with child at the beginning of the “Dragon’s Nest.” (Depends on when she left for Tora and got married to Ranesh)
So that would make Lief and Jasmine either, 17 and 6 months OR 18 at the beginning of the book. (As I said depending on when Marlien got pregnant, but she is obviously 6-7 months, cause they don’t have pregnacy tests in Deltora, so she’d have to show physical sighs of being an expecting mother.)
The Sister series would take about, say 3 to 10 months to complete.
As they have side tracks (The Masked Ones, Traveling on foot form place to place….. Laughing Jack’s ship etc)
They also stay in Broome for about 10 days just relaxing and junk.
So by the time the last threat of the Shadow Lord is destroyed….
Lief and Jasmine should be 19 or just about to turn 19.
When Lief and Jasmine get married (sorry if I spolied it for ya), it starts of by saying ‘the following spring’, since we don’t know the season at present when the quest to Destory the Sisters too place, we can’t be certain on how much time passes, if it was Spring when they defeated the Sisters, it would be the next year. It it was say Autum as I belive it have been, it would have been another 3 months after the Sisters are destroyed that the wedding of Lief and Jasmine takes place.
So they would well and truly be Over 19 years of age at that time.
Since there is no need to rush, to have any kids…. due to the never-ending line of heirs discovered in the previous series.
It could very well be another 2-3 years before…. the kids are born.
So Lief would be around 20 when he becomes a Daddy, if we follow my theory.

ya I know, but do you know how much trouble I go through I had to find all the times,I typed the damn thing with answers like what day of what month Lief was born, what season and month they killed all the sisters and grey stuf,then i press wrong button, and it all gets deleted. Option 1: (1gem=1/2 month)
4 gems=2 months+ 1 1/2 months for 3 gems+ 1/2 month for return to del=4 months
Option2: (1gem=1month)
4 gem=4 months+3 months for 3 gems+1 month for return to del=8 months.
So far- between 4 and 8 months.
Series2:
On chapter 2, page 2, on line 18. It says 1-2 weeks then about 1 weeks between each attack (2 attacks) as it says would =3-4 weeks before next book starts.
Option 1: (3 weeks before book starts)
3 weeks+first 9 chapters (4 days)+2 to get to Os-man hills+ 1 day for killing "The Fear"+ 1 day rest+ 1 day to isle of illusion+ 2 days to get next piece of pipe+ 3 days for the shadowlands and getting back to palace=35 days=5 weeks=1 month, 1 week
Option2: (4 weeks before book starts)
4 weeks+first 9 chapters (4 days)+2 to get to Os-man hills+ 1 day for killing "The Fear"+ 1 day rest+ 1 day to isle of illusion+ 2 days to get next piece of pipe+ 3 days for the shadowlands and getting back to palace=42 days=6 weeks=1 month, 2 weeks

And now the marriage thing between Lief and Jasmine.
Spring is march, april, and june. They get married in april because in book it says when everything was blooming. It also says the FOLLOWING spring, implying that it is spring when the finish the series (not including marrige) So really it looks like this when Jief gets married. He is:
married in his early 18 or his mid 18 and becomes a dady well who knows when. maybe when he was late 17 or erly 18, maybe when he was late 18 or early 19... you dom have to get married to.....um..eee..well ah...you know! I say he becomes dady 9 months after marrig

I just skimmed thru every book and I'm more accurate, ellena is off by like 2 years. in explination she is beter, but you have to admit HOW THE HELL DOES THE SISTERS QUEST TAKE 6-7 MONTHS SAME WITH THE PIPE QUEST actually not the pipe, BUT WITH THE FIRST QUEST, IF LIEF GOT TO DEL 8 MONTHS LATER (8 MONTHS IS TOPS) WHY WOULD IT TAKE HIM LIKE HALF A YEAR TO FIND OUT HE WAS KING. 😖mart:
