God or No God?

Started by Shades96 pages

God is just a thought no-one can fathom. It is meaningless to say whether one does or does not believe in a God - we cannot know what we mean by harbouring a conviction.

[ Darwin himself said the evolution THEORY was the wanderings of a young mans mind, he could not belive it when science latched onto it as truth! He said before he died that he knew there was a God! Evin in evolution there has to be a beginning! Just look at the intricate work of the blood in the human body, not to mention everything else! There is no way anyone with an intelligencu could possibly believe we just 'happened'.

There is a branch of science that states that their must be a designer because things are too intricate to of just evolved by chance.

I see the reply I sent before is not here! I will repeat it! Darwin himself said he made up the evolution theory when he was a boy, he was very surprised whenscience grabbed a hld of it as truth! Before he died he admitted he believed in God, and the evolution theory was just his imagination!

I've also read that.

Stop posting for a second, read this, and DON'T GET DEFENSIVE.

By screaming at these people and telling them to go to hell, you are completely turning them off to Christianity, creating a prototypical (read: stereotypical) evangelical-fanatical Christian who condemns people to hell. You are being like those abortion protesters who shriek that a woman who has an abortion is going to burn in hell or one of those individuals who holds up a sign that says, "GOD HATES FAGS."

Sometimes I feel as you do--frustrated, fed-up with people--and just say, "I am glad that s/he is going to burn in hell." But that is a horrible, horrible thought that no Christian should ever have (though we do). What you must do is calmly explain your point of view, saying why you believe in God, and wait for a rebuttal--don't be surprised or offended if it is a biting response tinged with arrogance--and then work from there.

Have you ever heard the saying, "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar?" It's quite true. To kill an opponent's body is nothing, for you must kill his spirit for true victory. However, the harsher manner in which you lash out, the more his resistance becomes. Instead, you must kill him with kindness--true, unfeigned kindness--and you will defeat his spirit. Is it not better to have a collaborator than a corpse?

Show your enemies love and mercy, and they shall see God. Show them cruelty and your efforts shall be fruitless.

allright............. fine.................. I'm just a person that likes to exsprece my opinion wether anyone likes it or not, I'll shut up and leave everyone alone....I'm sure some people would love that anyway

Don't call me an asshat and I wont call you anything, its that simple

My advice to you> Since you seem to be an "@ss" when you try to talk about God with other people, calling them "idiots" and the like, then perhaps you should just not discuss it. 😉

I'm always an "@ss" when someones the same way to me, and I like to bug people, expecally if I can tell its bothering them

shuting up now.

The fable of the deathbed conversion of Charles Darwin to Christianity first appeared in the October 1955 issue of the Reformation Review and in the February 1957 issue of the Record of the Free Church of Scotland. It circulates widely on the Internet via Email and is seen on many creation science web sites.

Henrietta, the daughter of Charles Darwin, explains, "I was present at his deathbed... He never recanted any of his scientific views, either then or earlier. We think the story of his conversion was fabricated in the USA... The whole story has no foundation whatever."

The notion that Darwin simply "thought up" the theory of evolution and presented it as truth even though he knew it had no evidence to back it up is also false.

It is doubtful that anyone who has read his books: On the Origin of Species, The Descent of Man, The Voyage of the Beagle: Charles Darwin's Journal of Researchers, Charles Darwin's Zoology Notes and Specimen Lists from H.M.S. Beagle, or his autobiography, could come to this conclusion.

Why would Darwin have exposed himself to such hatred and vilification from religious sources if he did not believe that his conclusions were accurate?

There are many different beliefs here on these forums...including Buddhists, atheists, and a mish mash full of beliefs. I think some even have old old Norse or something beliefs. So we all just like to talk and discuss the differences without trying to get heated, but as you'll see many times it comes to that...This is a neat forum...I hope you like it here.... 🙄

YES I KNOW GOD AND WE ARE TOGHETHER AND SOME DAY ALL THE PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY DON'T KNOW HIM WILL KNOW HIM BUT FOR THEM IT WILL BE TO LATE!
