Evolution does not work by randomness or chance. Evolution works by adaptation or a very long time. Very small changes over time lead to large changes.
I believe that evolution is the hand of God creating the universe.

"Proof" is a direct experience of a given phenomenon. My sensory experience of a table proves the table exists (even if just as a sensory impression); n=n is a mental-symbolic proof based on laws of language and logic.
Since "God" is generally interpreted as a "spiritual" being, there can neither be direct empirical evidence of his existence, nor direct mental-symbolic proof of his existence. The best the eye of flesh and eye of reason can do is hint of God's existence (and "hints" are open to other interpretations more in line with Occam's Razor), but neither provide a direct experience of his spiritual being.
Generally speaking: since we are defining God as "spirit," the "eye of contemplation" (as is opened in meditation) is what is required for a direct experiencing of spirit. And to ensure the reliability (perhaps validity as well) of this direct experiencing, one processes it through strict scientific method. This would include correlation with (eg) any empirical "hints" which might be applicable.
The legitimacy of the above depends, of course, on your philosophical bent. Atheists/reductionists/epiphenomenalists will reject it on principle.

The fact that we look for God, creates God in our mind. Therefore this maybe proof that at least for the moment of thought, that God is.
