God or No God?

It's actually quite feasible to believe that He put things in motion and then let evolution take care of itself through randomness/chance.

Evolution does not work by randomness or chance. Evolution works by adaptation or a very long time. Very small changes over time lead to large changes.

I believe that evolution is the hand of God creating the universe.

Nothing, nada, zip.

God. And I believe in both.........God.... AND the evolutionary theory.

I think this is very possible also.......and why not?

"Proof" is a direct experience of a given phenomenon. My sensory experience of a table proves the table exists (even if just as a sensory impression); n=n is a mental-symbolic proof based on laws of language and logic.

Since "God" is generally interpreted as a "spiritual" being, there can neither be direct empirical evidence of his existence, nor direct mental-symbolic proof of his existence. The best the eye of flesh and eye of reason can do is hint of God's existence (and "hints" are open to other interpretations more in line with Occam's Razor), but neither provide a direct experience of his spiritual being.

Generally speaking: since we are defining God as "spirit," the "eye of contemplation" (as is opened in meditation) is what is required for a direct experiencing of spirit. And to ensure the reliability (perhaps validity as well) of this direct experiencing, one processes it through strict scientific method. This would include correlation with (eg) any empirical "hints" which might be applicable.

The legitimacy of the above depends, of course, on your philosophical bent. Atheists/reductionists/epiphenomenalists will reject it on principle.

Since god would be considered spirit (like air) it would be hard to prove, but it can be experience on a personal level, just like air, and measured to some extent, by supernatural or metaphysical means.

The fact that we look for God, creates God in our mind. Therefore this maybe proof that at least for the moment of thought, that God is.

Yes, we create what we want in our minds because we are creators also being parts of the "Main Source"...If we want to create angels, devils we can, fairies, or gnomes we can..The mind or spiritual energy is a very powerful thing.

When we are forgotten, we cease to exist.

I don't believe in any human religion's god but I'm open to possibilities.

I believe there is a Goddess and a God who are equal. Neither is greater than the other. 😊

I don't believe in God, I do believe in the Goddess, however, so I voted that I believe in a Supreme Being.

Why? Lying is a sin you know 🙄

Yeah funny how god would chose to build his 12 tribes on a deceitful lie.

I am not lying. Just because I don't believe in YOUR God, doesn't mean I'm sinning.

If you were sinning, you would know it, because you would be in hell. We put ourselves in hell.

Yes that's true....You can be going through a horrific time and still not be in hell. It's your state of mind.
