I'm very confused as to whether you think I am pseudo intellectual or not? Please make up your mind or be clearer.
I can't make up my mind as I can not say for sure whether you are or not. However you have many common likes as the pseudo intellectual class of students at most universities. I could never fully comment on your personality for two reasons, one I don't know you, only the you you try to portray, and two, you have admitted to lying before (I'm a university professor) so I never know what to believe.
As for studying philosophy, I thought that everyone had to to get an undergraduate degree?

Do you even know what 'pseudo intellectual' means? It's still quite ARROGANT if you call my stuff 'pseudo intellectual', so you're effectively descending to my level of mentality - ha!
Anyway, it's your opinion. Some other people actually do understand my philosophy and don't call it 'pseudo intellectual'. Go look at the following forum: http://www.madphilosophers.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.cgi?board=general
This is what one member commented on me:
"Im going to re-read it in full this time instead of my speed reading that usually gets the easy point most people are making.
*finishes reading*
I like that, i'll throw you a compliment too, it's actually deep enough to read, at a time i was losing faith in the posters here."
And here's another:
"Philosophicus:
Your other eloquent post this morning and this one both are engaging and appreciated.
I'm sure you know Hegel far better than I. By coincidence (?) I was commenting on his Dialectic and more generally on historicism in the "Teleology" post on the "Fundamental Principles" thread. "
Your general likes dislikes that you list in your profile are stereotipical of what college kids see as the ultimate in intellectual opinions and taste.
I was mearly commenting on your claim of others being unoriginal and that it may seem that way to you, but not to others. I did not say that you were cliche or unoriginal (if I did I apologize) I was trying to ppoint out that what you think of others they could easily think of you by appearance alone.

What's wrong with my likes and dislikes? I honestly like the artists, composers, films, music, etc. which is listed in my profile - I can't help that. And what's wrong with that? Should I have the same tastes as you have? I also happen to like other 'lesser intellectual' things like soapies on tv, commedies, etc.
Do you have something against me liking big names such as Shakespear, Charlie Chaplin, Bach, Michelangelo, etc.?
Oh, and about Shakespear - he didn't write for the common man in his days, but infact, for the Queen and the royal houses as well - also, why is it that today, only a small portion of society read Shakespeare - the intellectuals? The average Joe can't understand Shakespeare and is bored by him.
You are all figments of my imagination
What if I have subconsciously programmed everyone to act in a certain manor around me as an illusion to my real life?
What if all the people I speak to are just a part of my warped imagination?
What if the real world was too simple that I just went crazy and just imagined all of this as a substitute to the harsh reality which I cannot handle?
This is a self-centered way of thinking, and it is also kinda disturbing too...
I could think of it in another way as well, say one of my friends is real and I am only a figment of her imagination doing all this so she has a better understanding of her surroundings...
Like it is a weird test for her... I am just one of the obstacles to make the delusion more real...
😆 I'm crazy...😆 😐
I am reminded of a talk show many years ago where two philosophers were discussing What Is Real. One took the position that the material world is an illusion. The other picked up a book and threw it at him, wherein the first guy got hit and said "Ow!" The guy who threw the book said, "You're gonna tell me that wasn't real?"
As with any Heavy Philosophical Discussion, one must first operationally define the relevant terms as precsiely as possible. Otherwise discussion degenerates into semantics, often without even realizing it.
That said, the manifest world is both real and illusion.
As an aside, one of my "hobbies" is lucid dreaming, and often I like to ask someone in my dream what it's like for him/her to be in my dream.
