Originally posted by dadudemonwell, I weigh 221 right now. a few weeks ago I weighed 243. I have been doing some cardio and heavy lifting off and on, and BAM....22 pounds just melted away. But I am sure it was just water weight.

I want to get between 190 and 200, I will be comfortable there. I dont want to bulk up, but I do want to tone up what I have. Guess I need to do lots of reps with light weights.

Do you want a six pack? Or do you want to retain as much muscles as possible so that when you lose all of that weight, you have something to go with those abs?
If you want a little muscle with those abs, keep your protein intake to about 1 gram for every pound of body weight...or 2 grams for every lb of lean mass you have...(That is what Charles Glass says so I think it is probably best.)
Keep your reps in the 8-12 rep range and your weight really high...so high that your first set fails at 12 and your last set should fail at 8 reps...with the same weight...that is why I said 4 sets. Your cardio should be less than an hour and 30 minutes a day. Do about 4 sets on each station...work in some drop sets with a work out buddy if you have one...AND DON"T FORGET YOUR DIET....
Shedding those frist 20 lbs is easy...and no it wasn't all water. If you drop a lot of carbs out of your diet all of a sudden, you lose a lot of water weight. But 20 lbs is waaay too much to lose in just water weight...maybe 5 lbs in water weight at best...
The reason I was teasing you about the before and after picks...I used to be a personal trainer and I really love to see people progress. I like to see people change their life around and star taking care of themselves...You don't have to PM it to me...I would rather you put it in this thread for all to see your great progress. I will post my in about a month or two...honestly. Do you want to hold hands and post together? *shy*
the point is...don't let your diet keep you from working out hard and don't let the myth of high reps and low weight trick you.

Keep your shirt on. Just lift it up. You said if you posted shirtless pictures.... so I guess technically you could have a shirt in the picture and it wouldn't be a shirtless picture.
I like how this lawyer thinks...on the same token, you can wear your shirt on your head.....or on one arm etc.
