Birthday:
Capote - Thumbs up, Hoffman delivered the performance of a lifetime.

A history of violence - so/so, felt incomplete. I disliked the sex scenes greatly. Plus, it ended in what would seem like a progressing song which added the effect that it felt incomplete and lame.

Munich - still have yet to watch

Boondock Saints - loved it, very enjoyable to watch.

A clockwork orange - Seen it before, just had a hard time getting my hands on a DVD.

Thundercats season 1: volume 1 - I love this stuff.
Thundercats season 1: volume 2

Walk the line - Very big Cash fan. I watched it and thought it was very good. Great performance, electrifying. I could sslap myself for not seeing it earlier.

King kong '33

Sin City: Recut, extended, unrated - still have yet to watch

Bought:
Seven samurai
Zatochi (2003)

Ouch. I don't know that you'll want to hear this;

"Boondock Saints" is getting a 2 disc SE on 5/30, "A Clockwork Orange" is being re-released, and "Seven Samurai" and "Zatiochi" are both getting 2 disc SE's from Criterion in 2 months.

I flipped my "Boondock Saints" months ago, and "Capote" isn't a movie I could/want to watch more than once, personally.

Atleast they were free..😊

Where ya been shopping? Those used prices are about what they are new most everywhere else? 😕

I actually asked the staff that very question, and they said that the NEW prices are about a dollar or two more, so either way I'm not getting THAT big of a bargain. But every little bit helps, you know?

As long as I have the DVD's in my possesion, I'm fine. 😊

I would like to see the Boondock Saints 2 disc SE, though. I believe they are rereleasing it in theaters for a short time.

The Zatoichi DVD also comes with SONATINE.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Big Used DVD sale at Hasting's (my local store) thru this weekend: all used DVD's are just $5.00. Just went and bought:
-Who's Harry Crumb
-Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
-The Great Outdoors
-Top Secret!
-Silence of the Hams
-Fatal Instinct

I felt the urge for some old school comedy, not to mention some ridiculous spoofs. The selection wasnt exactly phenomenal, but it wasnt slim. I plan to get more this weekend.

Ohhhh..Beat Takishi's "Zatoichi". I remember that movie having horrible special effects, lol.

Anywho..

Bret Hart: TBTI, TBTW, & TBTEWB 3 Disc - $5.99
Frasier Season 4 - $15

...and this piece of fried gold, after it was brought to my attention;

$200 $150 $100 $50 $45 👆

Oh, shit. I'd love to have that complete Monty Python set!!! You only paid $45 dollars for it? How much is the retail price?

$200. It's OOP now, as they reissued it in slimline cases w/ 2 "Monty Python Live" discs, which I don't want. I'm starting a thread for anyone else that may be interested.

There's just some obvious issues with some CGI blood, like in "Battle Royale". It's incredibly digitalized, and fake. Otherwise, it's not a bad movie. But that's not the one getting the Criterion release. Akira Kurosawa's is.

Risky Business

The Royal Tenenbaums: Criterion - $3
This Is Spinal Tap - $3
Invader Zim: Vol. 1 - Doom, Doom, Doom - $3
Blade Runner: Director's Cut - $3

Nice buys for 12 dollas.

The Breakfast Club
SNL: The Best of Phil Hartman

I Heart Huckabees 2 Disk LE - $12
Eternal Sunshine 2 Disk LE - $12

..and I'm really hoping to add a very, very important piece here soon. May happen, may not. We'll see. 😊

Tomorrow I'll be getting the Kingdom of Heaven (4-Disc Director's Cut) and the Dirty Dozen 2 disc edition.
