not all christians, im a catholic and we do no such thing, ppl confuse all of christianity with mormons and jehovahs witness' along with some others here and there, but you must understand these ppl belive that their purpose is to spread the word of God. But ppl dont generalize christianity with its few instead of its many.
Basically is freedom of speech. A person can criticize any religion as long as that person has valid arguments. All you can do is just rebuttle an argument or say "I don't agree with that".
Of course there are times in which it becomes gang mentality, and they get a kick out of picking on a religion, so is just better to stay off and let them get their jollies. God only knows why they do it (yes that was a pun)

On the topic, Christians (as a whole) probably wouldn't get criticized so much if the more outspoken members of the religion wouldn't always criticize those of other beliefs. What goes around comes around.
NOTE: I'm not saying that all Christians are like this, as I know that's not true...but a good deal are that way.

I'll leave them alone...When they stop trying to shove their archaic, preposterously ridiculous, scientifically disproved, prejudiced, homophobic, sexist religious beliefs down my throat.
Christians have become increasingly aggressive when it comes to domestic and foreign policy. They are influencing the bans on gay marriage, gay adoption, stem cell research and their support of the Iraq war (a war that will feel will protect Israel) is absolutely deplorable!
Christians are a greater threat to America's future than middle eastern terrorists!
Not all who claim they are Christians are true Christians.
Not all who call to Jesus 'Lord, Lord' are real followers.
The true Christians are in the Bible. The ones who do God's will.

Why do people bash us? I'll tell you why. Because our entire theology is based on the teachings of a book written by unknown people, claiming that a one holy supreme being who lords over all the earth is speaking through them. If I didnt have two pastors for parents, I'd have resigned to Buddism a long, long time ago. It is hard for people that were not brought up in a Christian family to accept....let alone believe. And the people that have "bashed", in your eyes, Christianity have had some pretty damn good points! Did you even read the posts? Its not just "cristions r so stoopid", they type out why they think our religion is wrong, and invite for rebuttle.
And WindDancer, I wouldnt preach the 1st Amendment to him. He's a Bush supporter, I doubt he knows what the Constitution is. But then again, nor does Bush.

Ok this is my view of things, I changed my church cuz they wanted the gay marriage thing. I am not against gays I just beleive that I cannot be gay because of my beliefs. I am against abortion but I won't hate people for it it is personally something I wouldn't do and there are circumstances in which I do accept abortions like in my case I have epilepsy it's very mild so I don't have to do this-but my aunt had it too hers though was very advanced she got pregnant and had an abortion because if she hadn't of the baby would have died anyways and she would have probably gone insane. I don't tell my gay friends I'm against gay marriage- if they call it something else like a unity or something I'm all for it
