I loved it. I have to be in the right mood to watch a vampire flick, vampires are my "most hated" movie monster. Bad dreams and such.
It was so original, you know what I'm talking about, what Dafoe's character was able to do, and then repeat the experiment. And in the end when everyone's own gluttony ended up doing what it did. I love that kind of poetic justice.
First time I've seen Sam Neill as a villain, he didn't quite make it for me. There could have been a lot more "pushing the limits because of his power" instead of constantly going and looking at the farm every twenty minutes.
Anyway, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - 4/5 stars. There's something that I call "the aftertaste" of the film, the part that makes you feel like the film wanted you to feel much longer after the movie has ended. That's worth an entire star to me. Maybe I'm just cynical or not vulnerable enough, but I didn't really feel anything at the very end or after.
