Prepare to be dazzled! I still can't make up my mind whether I liked that movie or not.
It was a very beautiful yet empty movie. Kinda like a beautiful stripper.Home -- Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
same dealy. I felt the same thing, it was good but?? IDK maybe im being to judgy on movies now that I think I know it all 😆
so I watched the messengers with christian stewart and I swear it had the same lines as twilight, when she introduced herself to cullen and cullen asks her so why did you move to the coldest place in the continental U.S??
SHE SAYS: Well I use too I played in junior high..IDK I guess I just got into other things.
it was F the same I was laughing my head off; how could twilight get away with that?? Some of the lines are off but its the same feel, its so weird just out of order.
... Like eating a hollow chocolate rabbit.
But then I watched "The Fall" directed by David Fincher, with Tarsem Singh as "just Tarsem," and now I feel okay because The Fall had about three times as much significant content as any other movie.
Oh, and watched Sherlock Holmes, Game of Shadows yesterday, and Hugo the previous night. [From Redbox] Hugo is also the kind of movie that's chock-full of goodies.
So it's been a good movie weekend.
I am confused a little by Immortals though. Where the f*** was Zeus and Hades and Hera and all of those gods? I mean, dude! Why were they doing "This is your life" with Apollo?! Zeus was mentioned several times and never showed up. I still don't know the name of the god that Apollo killed for directly helping humans. No Aphrodite and way to get the family tree wrong - Athena wasn't Apollo's daughter - she was literally Zeus's headache - she sprang fully grown from his head. Artemis wasn't Apollo's daughter, she's Apollo's twin! Dudes, do your research!!
And that rule didn't ring true to me. Athena was allowed to help Perseus personally, wasn't it like four times? Zeus fathered zillions, including Perseus... maybe that's why they could help him, because he was their half-brother?

What do you mean "The Fall" directed by David Fincher? It was directed by Tarsem Singh.

This is just a guess, but they probably weren't going for a direct retelling of the original mythology. I guess it's kind of a fan fiction sort of thing, and it's gorgeous. But you should have seen it in 3D. 😉
I swore that David Fincher's name was on it somewhere [maybe producer], but yes, you are right, or at least imdb.com thinks you are. Maybe it's a covert operation and I'm the only one who realizes the truth. 😄
I had another complaint about Immortals - the lighting was ass-awful, more in the beginning than the end. People are sneaking around but you don't know the characters yet so you can't tell who's speaking and who's listening.
lol.. yeah, you're special. 😛
Yeah, I was a little disappointed in the blu-ray, too. The film is a little too dark (like the contrast is a little too high or something) and some of the visual effects look like they weren't finished or something.. it's odd (however it may not look that bad in 3D). I just haven't had a chance to watch it in blu-ray 3D yet (need to find someone with a 3D setup, lol).

Watched the new Conan the Barbarian last night. All the movies of 2011 that were supposed to be awesome and new and stuff are all landing on Instant Netflix. Which means that I probably don't have too much longer to wait until they get John Carter.
Lol, interesting. Go ahead and start lowering your expectations for John Carter like I should have. You'll enjoy it more. Another mistake I made was that I became somewhat familiar with the books.
I watched The Eagle. Pretty "meh" in my opinion, but it was just interesting enough to watch til the end.

Well, there was a moment when Conan was still a boy, after he kills the invaders and is coming back to face his father; the kid pulls don't his face at it looks exactly like Arnie's face. It was a bit creepy.
Agreed. The kid did a good job. And this version of Conan was a little more accurate to the comic version.
