That's why you have to start watching it before you are aware of the depth of the story - like when you're four, and progressively watch it until your twenties, then finally find that you understand it all, and hey! that's Val Kilmer!
I watched The Last Action Hero. Very fun.
Plus "Radio Days," narrated by Woody Allen, about memories from childhood and how he loved "The Masked Avenger" and who loved what in his very large family, plus songs that bring him to particular memories. 5/5

W-I-L-L-O-WOkay, so I slept during some of it, but I saw most of it, I think. heh. It was pretty fun. Moses meets Lord of the Rings, meets Snow White, meets Star Wars, meets Ron Howard.. lol.
I havent seen this movie in years, does it star a midget? or was it some dude who gets naked and starts swimming in the water, the dude from ally mcbeal? » Peter MacNicol
graveyard of fireflies. i watched this because I could on myspace and found an english version, which I was lucky because most of the versions were japanese and I couldnt understand a word. So, opening scene japan is at war, there is this boy and his little brother; who turns out to be a his little sister.. he seperates from his mother and they hide in some strangers house while bombing is taking place. They both end up staying alive, while their mother dies, move into their evil aunts house and she treats them like dirt. (reminds you that this was made for kids) You see a bunch of dead bodies, bugs eating away at them, humans dying, houses burning the whole lot. The kids end up moving into a cave, where he tries to feed his baby sister but cant support them both so he resorts to stealing. He finds out his dad dies and after he comes home to find out his sister is dead, so he sleeps by her body till he figures out a way to bury her body. The movie ends at this point, and he looks up at the sky? WTF?

It's not the naked dude. The star, a young Warwick Davis, plays a very hobbity character who's a magician. The good queen of the world must send her baby in a basket down the river and the hobbity creatures receive, who they're supposed to keep safe from the Evil Witch Queen, I forget the name. Because of some prophecy, if the child lives, the queen dies, and versa. It's pretty good.

I finished watching "The Arabian Nights" and "A Good Woman."
Good watches, both.

Are you a big Horror fan Leech?
Not exclusively. Heady, dark sci-fi is my bread and butter. I'm a big Movies-Done-Right fan... heh.. i value good direction. Cronenberg, Kubrick, Ridley Scott, Polanski... all greatt examples. Did you ever see Pandorum? It was a dark sci-fi/horror film from a few years ago. I loved the premise, but it has amateur direction. I still enjoy it, though. I think the guy wanted to turn it into a trilogy, but it didnt do too well. : (
Just finished watching Pavilion of Women. I'm a huge Pearl S. Buck fan and am very satisfied and happy with the film adaptation
And am very impressed with a Willem Dafoe role like I've never seen him
before.
Most memorable shot - Dafoe looking up, his church outlined in the sky, while the Japanese planes stream in.
Beautiful movie... 5/5

shock Did you just say Jesus??
I just watched Black Hawk Down again. I didn't remember it very well. Pretty good... not overly impressed with it, though. It has some nice little touches here and there, and there are some well done action/war/battle scenes, but not much of a plot for my taste. Personally, I think Ridley should stick to Science Fiction. : )

I had a copy but it didn't work. I'll try to grab it again.
He played a priest named Dipwad? lol or are you calling me a dipwad? That's not very nice. 🙁
Anyway... The Leech branched out where he rarely treads: I watched The Notebook with my girlfriend last night. It was some decent mindless (pun intended) Romantic entertainment, but probably not something I would want to watch again.
