Kazenji - The acting was superb. It wasn't the most original idea - obviously there's Fahrenheit 451, 1984, etc., but the concept of the zen-like-assassins with their study [nearing worship] of the gun-kata is totally cool.
Esau Cairn - In some ways, I agree. The stone cold veneer of Preston would've been great for Batman. But then we know that Bruce Wayne is being tugged by all kinds of emotions, and to be consistent some of that has to spill over to Batman.
Leechy-darling - Since when is Christian Bale or Antonio Banderas or Viggo Mortenson [not exactly a black cape but has the attitude of it in LotR] or Orlando Bloom [green cape] black? Have we had a black dude in a black cape? If so, I am woefully ignorant, but would probably love to get to know him. 😄 😄

Can't blame ya. The guy represents "sleekness"

It's a shame Bale was more "Batman" in Equilibrium than in TDKR.-sigh-
True dat.

A guilty pleasure. Hathaway is so freakin hot in that film. Chick is insane.

For starters, Nolan's Batman would've been so much better using some of the action & fighting sequences that a small budget movie like Equilibrium had.

Equilibrium was good, I liked it. Loved his room concept, the whole clean design look not only to the space but the fashion in that movie..hehe (the whole fighting sequence when there all in a group was cool) kinda reminded me of 1984!

some movies do well with small budgets, who needs flash over better acting?
I agree whole heartedly. Nolan's Batverse failed to personify Batman completely. It had moments.....but wasn't consistent.

lol, I don't know quite honestly. I was sort of wondering the same thing. It's a good question. I was just being goofy, though. 🙂
From Beyond (dvd)
The Avengers (blu-ray)
From Beyond was some relatvively amusing B-horror. And the Avengers looked a lot better on blu-ray than it did on the shit theater screen tha I saw it on. It's a fun film. Big props to Joss Whedon for being able to juggle so many characters and being able to make it work surprisingly well. It made the pacing a little odd, but not too bad.
Beowulf (2007)
Robert Zemeckis' adaptation. It was epically and cinematically enjoyable. I was expecting better animation, though, actually. It didn't seem like much of an improvement over Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001). But it was still visually fascinating and a lot of fun. The director's cut is rather violent and revealing... I imagine the version that was shown in theaters was much different..
The Talented Mr. Ripley, Netflix DVD that I ordered on my parents' account.
PERFECT MOVIE.
The Phantom of the Opera [not the movie version with Emmy Rossum and Gerard Butler] 25th anniversary, show filmed onstage.
I saw this on Broadway, and all the memories came back to me. Obviously, the cast was perfect, because they had to be for the only filming of the show. Some things had changed, though, the chandelier started above the audience instead of on the stage, but I guess that would be really tricky to film the crashing of the chandelier... but that's one of my favorite parts.
ETA : The Phantom is also a man in a black cape. This is way bigger than I thought...
