Last Movie You Saw? (Theater/Home)

I've been making my way through the "Walking Dead" episodes on Netflix. They only have two seasons, though. *grumble.*

I want to see this sooooo badly!!! Half-ly because I cannot wait to see how Baz Luhrman glamours up the twenties with his all-pervading sense of style.

Watched "A Cabin in the Woods." Further proof that Joss Whedon is just a goddamn genius.

Instant Netflix.

Great gatsby. Good.

Gatsby

I did not know this movie was out until my son called and invited me to see it with him and his fiancé. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jay Gatsby, the self-made millionaire obsessed with Daisy Buchanan. This is the fourth time F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel has been made into a movie. We visit New York in the 1920s. The Jazz Age! When Leo dies in the pool, we are reminded of Titanic. I recall Robert Redford's Gatsby from 1974, but somehow Leo seems more suited to the role, calling his acquaintances "Old Sport." Until this adaptation, I never grasped the fact that Gatsby was murdered at the end. I am now watching the 1949 film with Alan Ladd on youtube. I also learned that Fitzgerald was named after Francis Scott Key, who wrote "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Yeah, the Redford version, while closer to the book, managed to eke out all the fun atmospheric surroundings, and the characters were so flat.

Safety not Required. Awesome.

Home - Planet Hulk.

Entertaining for someone who knows what happens in the comics.
But I imagine someone without comic knowledge would've scratched their heads alot during this feature.

Hulk's powers fluctuated greatly throughout this film. And it wasn't explained why.

This film could've done with an extra 20 mins of screen time to explain the inconsistencies.
And the animations of the arena monsters were horrible.

5.5/10.

I also was disappointed with this.

I'm re-watching Arrested Development on Instant Netflix so I can be prepared and knowledgeable in the joke-verse for the fourth season and/or movie.

Great series. It's a sign that angels exist that we are getting a new season.

Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan--mehville. It was agony finishing the movie. So grateful for the reboots.

Q: What's a reboot without the original?

A: Nothing.
