Last Movie You Saw? (Theater/Home)

Tinker Tailor soldier Spy.

Great cast and great story.

^ didn't appreciate that movie the first time i saw it. Watched it again last year and I'm of the same opinion as you.

Home: 'Central Intelligence'

surprisingly funny movie.

Breathless.

I tried to watch Tron (original) and quit 35 minutes in, a pretty boring film with some good visuals for the time period though

Take Shelter was a great film

Finding Dory. Pretty good.

My father, die. 2016.

😂

The Legend of Tarzan
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Criminal

Cronos (1993)

Guillermo del Toro again. His early work, not bad. I think he likes this vampire idea so much that he's improved upon the concept since then, so it felt a bit weak. Very slow moving. But not bad, very well done.

Top Secret (1984)

Slapstick comedy with Val Kilmer. Actually surprisingly amusing. I'm surprised I had never heard of it like I have the Naked Gun movies.

The Witch.

Frantic (1988). Damn good film.

That one falls through the cracks when discussing that type of movie.
It really does have some clever bits in it, though.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Nothing spectacular or astounding, but not too bad. Decent entertainment for a Sunday evening. 6/10

Dr. Strange second viewing.

Raising Arizona (1987)

Awesome. Never has Nicolas Cage been cast so well. And damn, the movie seems like it's actually aged very well. I would have thought it was much more recent than '87. It seemed ahead of its time.

Planet Hulk (2010) 6/10

Lots of pointless dialogue for the film for some of the characters of Hulk's gladiator team which ultimately comes across as unnecessary. No one will remember these characters after the end of the film, so going into who they were before other than that giant Orange-Thing looklike wasn't relevant to the plot. I'm not sure how close the plot of the film sticks to the comics, but overall it was a solid film that I could probably show to keep my little cousins happy. Not very memorable though

Kingsman the Secret Service (2014) 8/10

I had high hopes for this film and I wasn't disappointed in it. Colin Firth's faith in Eggsy is very believable in the film, and the lengths he goes and the training for Eggsy to become initiated into the service was surprisingly well done. It reminded me of a more detailed version of the MIB training, and was actually a welcomed part as it made his sacrifice in the end more necessary. The humor was spot on, and the film never took itself too seriously in the end. I mean exploding heads with neon lights, lol. Samuel L played a hilarious villain, the action scenes were well shot, and I loved all of the characters. I can't wait for the sequel

Doctor Strange: 9/10

Character development for multiple characters, unique flawed characters, terrific scenes in the style of The Matrix and Inception, great story with high stakes if the heroes lose, terrific sets including Hong Kong, great drama, amazing action scenes, amazing special effects including for the magic powers, great acting from the entire cast, great soundtrack, and a unique climax that isn't foreseeable at all.

Have you ever noticed del Toro's fascination for time-pieces, gadgets & cogs in all his movies?

Yeah, Hellboy 2 was all about it, right? I didn't care as much for that one... it needed more Lovecraftian beasts.. perhaps even Cthulhu himself!

Yeah, it's highly underrated! We were laughing pretty hard. It actually reminded me a little of Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail.

Underworld: Blood Wars

Hot chick. Vampires. Werewolves. And still so bad...

BFG, crap.
