From memory, in ancient times, the vampires disguised themselves as priests who preyed on improvised secluded villages. They would exchange food for the first born.

Whoa, I would like to read a graphic novel on that!

A Cure for Wellness.

I saw it too. What did you think?

I regret it.

F#ck you, pal. That's a good movie. Book is better, but the movie captures the spirit.

Silence (2016) <--- click for thread because I don't feel like repeating myself.

It was ok for the most part, pleasantly surprised with DeHann's performance, but the ending was so anticlimatic... the movie suddenly changed into some action movie boss scene, didn't like it.

Mystic River. Solid film but the ending leaves me annoyed. Dammit Sean Penn!!

Fist Fight. Quite funny, mostly due to the casts chemistry, story was pretty loopy.

Two men who kidnap a boy & sexually abuse him... 🙄

Is that what Mystic River is about?

No.

I watched Midnight Special the other night. Wish I'd heard about it back in 2016 when it was released as I'd definitely had seen it in the theatres but there wasn't much press or advertisement. It's kind of a forgotten gem from last year. Very good flick.

Snowpiercer
They Live
Enemy
Justice League vs. Teen Titans

👆

It was a great movie, Eastwood doesn't disappoint.

Its something that happens at the start of the movie, But its not the focus of it.

Central Intelligence. Decent.
I would rather have seen these guys in a 'Twins' reboot.

Quan rates it 3 candy bars. 😎

Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)
Fences (2016)
Lion (2016)

Denzel deserves the Oscar for Fences. Pretty amazing performance.

Jackie (2016)

Not really sure what to think of it to be honest. Felt a little foreign to me, but it's worth a watch. Probably would be more interesting to people who were alive then. But Natalie Portman is a mesmerizing actress. I'm partial to Oliver Stone's JFK, personally.

Assassin's Creed (2016) 6/10

The sad thing is, I kinda liked it - but it had the most anti-climactic ending of a movie I've seen in a long time. Up until then I couldn't understand why some people were so negative about it. Now, I still struggle to believe that anybody can mess up what could have been a good movie with such a lackluster ending.

La La Land (2016)

Sucked. Some good jazz music, but a shit movie. I'll be pissed if it wins Best Picture.

Hidden Figures (2016)

Very good. A much more deserving Best Picture nominee. Wouldn't be surprised or displeased if it wins.

I assume you mean when

Spoiler:
they built up this climactic showdown between the 3 Assassins and the Templars, even having an elaborate sequence where they show them assembling the weapons they snuck in, and Cal having a dramatic conversation with Sofia, only to have him quickly cut Rikkin's throat, take the Apple, and then the 3 of them buggering off to stand on a rooftop?"
Because that was a piss-poor ending to a movie I had also quite enjoyed for the most part.

Yes, exactly!
