Guardians of the galaxy 2
9/10
A amazing movie that is better than the original including the primary super villain.
After a great 1st movie the infamous sins of a sequel are altering the style which is moronic if it's not broke don't fix it, and reusing mostly the same or same story.
This sequel avoids both of those infamous sequel sins.
Again the traits of the 1st movie spectacular action, funny stuff and lines during dramatic serious scenes situations, huge explosions, great soundtrack, and a crew of foes that they also have to defeat.
Ego the Living Planet is a better super villain than Ronan because he has a personal connection to Star Lord, understandable 3 dimensional character with believable motives, amd you are more conflicted with him getting defeated because of the huge price mostly.
A amazing unique stan Lee cameo which has stuff the other cameos of his did not.
A terrific primary moral which is said outright that doesn't change it fits the scene perfectly.
The guardians and Nebula having to defeat the ruthless foe Ego The Living Planet is a spectacular climax expected they are fighting a powerhouse foe in the league of Galactus.
4 extra scenes interrupting credits.
1 is closure of a brief scene.
The other 3 is foreshadowing for the 3rd movie.
A scene after credits scenes which foreshadowing a famous character that possibly could be appearing in the 3rd GOTG movie plus highly likely the Infinity gauntlet movie.
If you have read the Infinity gauntlet series plus other marvel comic books set in Space most likely you'll know this character even with the full name not said.
I saw this movie called Horns recently that had Daniel Radcliffe(Harry Potter) in it, based on a book by Stephen King's son. Overall, a mixed bag. The first half was boring as hell and just weird for the sake of being weird with most of the cast giving bad performances. The second half goes full batshit crazy and becomes fun to watch.
I went to see GOTG2 again the theater for the second time the other day. I still have some nitpicks and bones I'd like to pick with the movie, but it's so much fun and has so much heart that I can't make myself dislike it.
