Somewhat to your surprise, it is not hot out. In fact, the environment is comfortable.
You have landed within an environment field, projected by the Techno-Union; everything inside the field is within an artificial environment, and is fully air-conditioned etc.
And of course, you have not landed on any old stretch of sand, but on a hi-tech landing platform with plentiful facilities.
Coming to meet you now is a protocol droid, who asks to address the leader of your delegation.
"Greetings, then, Master Jedi," says the Droid. "I am C4-O4, human-cyborg relations, and I welcome you on behalf of my Masters in the greatly esteemed Techology Union to the planet Poenae. I regret that due to our busy schedule, a full welcoming committee cannot be presrnt here for you; all our staff are extremely busy. But you are welcome to enjoy our facilities and watch the tecnology demonstrations in progress, should you have the need to wait at any point.
"But first things first, of course. If you would care to come with me, the Director wishes to speak with you."
It soons become clear to you that this area is split into a number of 'domes' consisting of the enivronmental fields laid down by the Union. Outside these fields, in the harsh environment of the desert, rather more is going on...
As C4-O4 leads you through the camp, with personnel, service droids and small vehicles all over the place, you soon hear the sound of gunfire. As he takes you over a dune, a scene is revealed at the far side of where you landed- two large armies of battle droids are marching across the landscape, blasting away at each other continuously.
"Th-thousands?" Xeth says. He is slightly disturbed by this.
"Well, weaponry demonstration, of course!" Xeth says with a chuckle, which is very much so a forced laugh, as images from Damagran come flooding back to him, and stories from Naboo. "Will we be testing weapons ourselves? I would like that..."
"Of course not, Master Jedi!" says the droid. "The demonstrations are taking place in a controlled environment, and would be very dangerous to interfere with! You are our guests."
But now, Xeth, something different. You can see six different armies now, but one of them is clearly winning. The droids in that army are not like the standard battle droid- you cannot see them properly from here...
