(There you are Densk!!!)
"Chancellor, they were using innocent slaves as test subjects! While they were already slaves of the pirates, the Techno Union supplied those pirates with the technology to turn them into fierce warriors and helpless victims. It was also the Techno Union's dealings with Shareth that created some of the situation on Damagran. Faylar was confident that with a droid army he could make his rule absolute."
"Innocent lives, Chancellor."
(oki guys cut all these OOC thingies it's getting out of hand: Stealth Tidus just read the whole thing again!)
Assuming Delfedd actualy said that to Palpatine: *I slowly and calm turn my head towards him and then give him a real mean look: like You WILL respect the chancellor and you WILL NOT talk to him that way*
(you read the rules about censure?)
That is certainly a censure point for Delfedd and a very unhelpful thing to say when you are trying to win the support of the Chancellor, and at a stroke it undoes everything Xeth said. One point is generous, as you are new.
"No-one is arguing the justice of the cause," says the Chancellor, "but may I remind you that until you have proven your case, at this point these are just so many allegations. Allegations without proof lead to no form of justice at all. The Techno-Union could just as easily say you did it, by that token."
Well, the Renegades certainly haven't pleased Yoda much; he is looking very unhappy.
"You have no need to convince me of the seriousness of the charges and the righteousness of prosecuting those charges... IF you are corrrect. The morals of such action were not in question. I question whether the investigation is practicable, and I question whether we have enough for these suspicions to be taken seriously, and I want to be convinced on both counts before everyone in this room is put at legal risk by pushing forwards."
"I am sure," says Mundi, "that if there is something to be found, our team will find it."
"But just how convinced are we all that these are the gneuine perpetrators?" asks Palpatine.
To cut you guys a break... bercause you need one- Marcus, you are the man with the Law skill. The murder of the Viceroy's cousin was part of a general background of politics that Ryamore may have been a material witness to. Of course, you actually think he is the chief suspect, but leaving that aside for now... as a part of that investigation, you could visit Ryamore as a witness to those events as a legal pretext to turn up on the Union's front doorstep and see if anything turns up.
(Feel free to ask to make Law rolls in tricky situations in future)
"I think I have a found a reason to pay Ryamore a visit chancellor, if I may exlpain myself... *pauzes for a moment* The murder on the Viceroy's cousin was part of a general background of politics that Carlan may have been a material witness of. As part of that investigation we could go visit him as a witness to those events. It would to my understanding of the law, be a legal pretext to turn up at the Union's doorstep and see if anything turns up. As to how sure we are these are the real perpetrators all clues lead up to one man Carlan Ryamore. So until we go and investigate it, however slightly -for which I already gave a legal pretext- we will not know for certain ."
