USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE II (DARK SIDE)- In the Coils of the Serpent

I've already given you a fair few hints and pointers, Dexx.

Hard to think what could possibly be used against a criminal organisation. Besides which, it is Lantarnans that have written all this stuff.

It will take far too long to research history and geaneology and that sort of thing, with a thousand years to cover- that is what the librarians are for, though people keep moving off historical subjects with them.

The most directly plot useful info in the library is on the tablet. It has other uses but that is up to you guys.

Yeah, I think Trickster hit the button on that one...

Draw, methinks? 😄

Would certainly help.

Trouble is, you've already gotten into trouble there once, and the owner is keeping a close eye on the shooters. Some teamwork might help here.

Oh Gallador! Care to distract him with an Illusion of me just shooting and not doing any blurry stuff?

That, or Rand can actually do something and distract him with questions about the machine...

Certainly I wouyld always advise to never use Force powers when you don't need to- a decent talking distraction will do you just as well.

And so Rand magically appears downstairs to see how Galder is coming along.

Assuming he's not preparing to shoot yet...

"How are things coming along?" Rand asks. "Do you have the money yet?"

"Um...I'm working on that..." Galder says, gesturing to the gun machine. "Care to...um...distract him with a few questions? I'd rather not be caught for cheatin' again...if you catch my drift..."

Galder will then get on the gun game. -2, -1, and then Draw!

Ok, now, is this the genuine go? Because it's more difficult to conceal the Draw twice!

Practice, I assume, right? Don't want to get shot on an untested theory...

"Right...have fun..." Rand follows him to the gun machine and greets the Rodian watching him, standing between him and Galder. "Hello! I wanted to ask how your game works. Was considering a round or two..."

Well, as I say, that's a big risk. Same force power, used twice for the same thing in quick succession is very suspicious.

No practice, Rand. Galder is going to try the real thing and hope he doesn't die.

Galder grips the gun and prepares for his first shot. -2 to the first.

Ok, here goes then!

First shot is evens for a 25... matches the 25. Shoot again!

Repeat shot is +2 for a 27. That beats its 25!

Second shot beckoning. Think carefully about this.

Crap, I should have gone with a -3 penalty.

Galder lets out a sigh of relief having not muffed on the first shot.

He prepares himself for the next one, and draws fast. -1 penalty. *gulp*

That seems more like 'doing what I was going to do anyway' rather than 'think carefully about this'

BTW, if you had gone for -3 you would have gotten shot first go!

Well, I wanted to keep it penalizd...but now I'm not so sure. *gulps anyway*

I'll try without penalty.

You have to be looking at the numbers here, you see- same as I recommended to Tanic. -1 gave you a more than 50/50 chance of being shot.

As it is, you roll +1, for a 28... beats its 27! Exactly what you wanted, in fact.

(Roll after was a -4, so if you had taken the -1... you would have been shot!)

Galder grins slightly at his quickness, then decides to finish the game.

Galder will use Draw on this final shot.

Come on, Galder, win! Kuylen will be happier. 😛

Ok! Quite a crowd has gathered for this one, because word is out that someone is going for the big win on Gambit!

Galder rolls... vens. Draw gives him a +2, which gives a final result of 29, to the machine's 29!

GASP! A draw! Dah dah dahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Deathly silence!

Galder, are you going to risk the shot again? If so, are any other means being taken to lower the risk of discovery?

Galder freezes in his spot, a bit surprised by the draw.

I will risk the shot again. Rand, make that distraction bigger!
