Like Tanic, Takuan, you have a little change, but you guys are always hard up. If any of you had the skill, you could win money gambling; there is also Gambit (the shooting game) to win on.

"All the more impressive in many ways then," says Doon. "Being violent isn't enough; to hold something together by force takes real class. That's why Bora will fail. He's a big guy. He'll have the same resources available. There is no literal reason he couldn't use force as Vigo does. But... he just doesn't have the same charismatic knack."
He stops to light a cigarette. Or possibly a death stick. Slightly to your surprise, he has taken it by expertly filching it from the pocket of a passer-by, none of whom can see him, of course.
"Of course, a knack has to be relevant to the people you are with. "That's your ptoblem, Rand," he says, gesturing at you. "You haven't got the right knack. That's why it's not working as you want it to."

Your agony is interrupted after a few minutes, Galder, as a figure taps on your tube. He reaches over and turns the power off. You sag, thankfully.
Kuylen neatly places he pelisse on a chair, pulls it up and sits, raising his legs on the table by the blood sampler.
"That was pretty poor," he says. "I had to stop you telling her why you were here. Shouting out to the Lantarnans the real reason you are here will get you killed immediately. Or maybe not literally immediately, but it will seal your doom. Now, normally I'd say... so be it. Man say stupid thing, man die. But I've got a job to do and I can't do it if you are dead."
He will dodge! He is skill 14, and you roll a -3, Rianna- not good enough!
He jerks out your way, grabs your wrist, and goes for a Throw.
-
"What, you think moaning about that will help?" says Kuylen. "This is about you in a more general sense. You're being tested. Right now you are a failure; you are not deserving of anything."
He rolls +3... a hit! Only one damage, but that prones you, and he will follow that up with a Flying Kick, giving him +2 to hit on that!
-
You might want to think about that, Galder!
"Don't just say it, prove it," says Kuylen. "After all, those are big words for someone with most his bones broken stuck in a torture tube. Life's a constant test, Galder. If I were really here now, I wouldn't lift a finger to help you. If you fail life's test, you fail my criteria of being worthy. I'll be keeping an eye out for that.
"But I'm really here, as I say, more generally. Let's face it, Galder, your life has been a total waste since we parted ways. A petty thug, skukling around the Galaxy, trying to visit his old 'friends', whatever that term means to us, fighting in the odd pointless war, and generally failing to do absolutely anything of note or consequence."
