I think this has been done before. 😕

Sadly, that "consistency" died about 15 years ago. He's still my pick.

i say Romero for the outstanding Dead Trilogy

John carpenter made the most quality horror films, but my 2 favourite horrors are The TCM by Tobe Hooper nad Cannibal Holocaust by Ruggero Deodata

John Carpenter

hitchcock, argento and carpenter

John Carpenter

John Carpenter and Ridley Scott. You people seem to forget a little Space Horror film called ALIEN!

I wouldn't exactly call "Alien" a horror movie. It was more of a Scifi/Thriller.

Wow, someone that likes Prince of Darkness other than me!

Lol what a coincidence it's on Cable over here in less than 10 minutes, I'll check it out🙂

Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper and George Romero, David Crotenberg and i know he's not on there but Sean S. Cunningham

These Filmakers brought us classics like:

Wes Craven:
Nightmare On Elm Street
Swamp Thing
Serpent and the Rainbow
Last House on the Left
People Under The Stairs
Shocker
Scream.

John Carpenter:
Halloween
The Fog
The Thing
Prince Of Darkness
They Live!
Christine

Tobe Hooper.
Texas Chainsaw MAssacre
Eaten Alive
Poltergeist
The Funhouse

David Crotenberg.
The Fly
Videodrome
Shivers
Scannerz

George Romero.

MArtin
The " Dead"Trilogy

Sean S. Cunnigham.
Friday the 13th
Last House on the Left

i was going to add sean cunningham but he only did friday the 13th and produced last house on the left, so he has not directed enough classic films

Are you talking about Prince of Darkness?

i used to appreciate Hitchcock, till i had to study Psycho, now i dont like him. nothing wrong with the movie, but i just think Hitchcocks a pompous ****. if you believe the rumors (like i do in this case) he wasn't even there when the shower scene was shot

George Romero:

Martin

More importantly, "Monkey Shines". "Martin" was a good idea, but had poor execution, IMO.

I voted for Tobe Hooper, TCM hit me hard.

John Carpenter! Favorite movie: The Thing. Others I like: The Fog., Ghosts of Mars, Halloween series.

But I also like Paul W.S. Anderson. I found "Alien vs Predator". "Resident Evil 1 & 2" as good horror movies.

I think he did good work with upcoming "The Dark" and I hope "Resident Evil 3: Afterlife" to be the best of the series.

Maybe, sooner or later we'll have great movies made by Mr. Anderson and he'll be on our "best horror director" list. Who knows?
