Who Is The Best Horror Director?

Started by Mane2 pages

Anderson is a poo director, but he's a good writer and I like the stories of his movies.

Not quite 'poo' director! He has wonderful ideas but too bad he's got too many goofs in writing... But... As I said: I'm waiting for something good!!!

I wouldn't exactly call "Alien" a horror movie. It was more of a Scifi/Thriller.

No its official genre is space horror.

Carpenter and guy that did sings

M. Night Shayamalan

Anderson is good for action, but when it comes to the acting and delivery of lines and so on, he is mostly crap.

Event Horizon was interesting though.

Tabby- We had to study Alfred Hitchcock and his films immensely in film studies, absolutely love his films.

wes craven is the bomb.

Yeah Alfred Hitchcock is an excellent writer/director.

persinally , i think wes craven is a bit poo

Why do you think that?

i dont like the feel of most of his movies, the atmospheres dont feel right, perhaps to modern or too much of a specific time, i do like anoes and scream, but the rest i dont really feel

I dislike the movies, but, "The Hills Have Eyes" and "Last House on the Left", for their time, had some pretty high tension.

Carpenter

I say Carpender, and Romero

M Night isn't a horror director. Neither is Hitchcock, come to think of it.

My fave are Craven and Carpenter

M Night is not strictly horror but has directed a few, The Sixth Sense, The Village, Signs.

Also hitchcock made a few, Psycho, The Birds, Vertigo, he was more into psychological terror and suspense.

Yep, Hitchcock has horror elements in some of his films, Papa said it above.

Voted for carpenter purely based on his work in "The Thing"... awesome stuff
