Wicca is a new religion based on old ideas. It is often confused with the practice of witchcraft, and though very similar they are not the same thing. Wicca is a religion whereas Witchcraft is a practice. The practice of witchcraft is not associated with any religion, therefore you can be a witch and yet also be a member of any number of religions. Not all Witches are Wiccan, nor are all Wiccans Witches.

I think my favorite part of this whole discussion is that Storm has repeated this post four times.

... If only there could be an enforceable rule that someone has to read through the thread before answering to it...

Paganism

Pagan. what are you views on the Religion?

Are you one?

Or are you a Christian who believe Pagans are nothing more then Devil Worshipers?

Pagans are FAR from devil worshipers. We beleive in the Earth. The goddess. Harmony

Yes we practice magic. but nothing as in "Pull a rabbit from a hat".. or.. "let me guess what card you just took from this deck of cards".

So lets hear it. What are your views about this?

i guess i'm kinda of a type of neo pagan. i'm assuming your wiccan though?

Wiccans seemed much more interesting on Buffy. Other than that I have no real opinion on pagans, though I have to say I'm not a fan of most Neo-Pagan/New Age types.

-.-' why do people ALWAYS compare Wicca to Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Yes. TECHNICALLY Willow portrays a Wiccan. but we dont have that kind of power. -.-'

Yes 313

j/k

New Agers tend to hold beliefs they claim are derived from something better than everyone else (which people from every religion do) but far too many of the ones I know claim these come from science, typically poorly understood quantum mechanics. Pagans annoy me because of the way they spell things. It's magic for God/Evolution/Nothingness/Haruhi's sake not "magik".

Most famous Wiccan in recent memory and I'm well aware that Willow is far from a realistic. There is one episode that has realistic ones in it, IIRC.

I spell it Magic O.o

yeah i know what episode you r talking about.

interesting. i don't consider my self apart of anh specif religion but my beliefs and faith is closer to Asatru then anything else i guess. *shrugs* So i consider my self a neo pagan if someone asks

I treat all religions the same. I think it's silly to believe in anything without proof or a way to prove it. I believe in what I see and what is. If someone were to demonstrate real magic to me, or to be able to prove to me that God or Vishnu or any other magical thing was real I'd be all about it. Alas, I haven't seen anything to prove it.

Well magic to us would seem like nothing to those who dont already believe. Its funny like that.... Also... and this is for the feint of heart..

Spoiler:
YES I WANT FRIES WITH THAT! WHAT ARE YOU STUPID?! WHY WOULD I NOT WANT FRIES WITH MY MEAL!?!?! GOD D*** IT! oh.. i mean.. Goddess.. D*** it.. o.o

Really? I doubt I'd convert until someone at least answered my questions about the implications of that sort of revelation.

If someone could show me some sort of magic I would believe in that magic. I wouldn't necessarily believe in God or any of that. I would obviously want to make sure that it was actually magic and not something scientific that I just couldn't understand.

I don't know. With me it's like the god's speak to me and help guide me. I don't know maybe its all in my head but i have faith because of it.

Makes sense but if someone showed you Vishnu would you become Hindu or would you just accept Vishnu's existence?

There happens to be a rather serious problem with the particular idea.

If Vishnu told me that hinduism was the way to go yes. If not no. I must say I dated this chick who was Hindu and i was saddened when she decided to become christian out of no where. Hinduism is way cooler in my opinion! And whats the problem with the idea i had earlier?

If you couldn't understand it, it also couldn't be explained to you in any meaningful way.

I believe and participate in the magic my religion has taught me and thus I have faith in that Religion.

thanks to my practicies I can relieve minor pains such as headaches. I can feel out peoples auras and see into their being. I can call upon the 4 corners to help guide me and give me strength.

I can also blow stuff up and... oh wait.. that last thing was Charmed... sry i love that show ^_^

But like Jalek said maybe all this is just in my head.
