Should the British Government change this law?

If someone illegally enters your home you should have the right to do whatever it takes to get them out of the house or ensure you and your families safety. If this means killing them before they have a chance to do anything then so be it, they shouldn't be breaking into houses in the first place and their death would be no ones fault but their own.

Right... first, knowing where Eggmayo lives, I can see why he's worried...LOL!!

Believe it or not, no-one has ever stolen anything from me or my family.
Guess it must be the rottweiler. 😆
Nah, I've never even had my bike nicked, and thats riding over Western Park at midnight... not a good idea in anyones book.

If someone illegally enters your house, then I believe you should have the right to harm then in any way until they weren't a threat anymore. If you find some sixteen year old robbing you, you point a shotgun at them and they faint after pissing their pants, then you shouldn't have the right to shoot them. But whilst they're still a potential threat, whatever you do should be legal.

If they run with some stuff, the insurance company can pay you back, and I don't think that it's justified to sniper them from your bedroom or something. Having your dog chase them is another thing (as dogs don't know the meaning of the words minimum force necessary when defending family), and I bow down to the wisdom of all who have a big dog to attack robbers.

If someone breaks into your house they have already set themselves apart from the laws which protect people, therefore by their own logic they shouldnt have protection from those laws. Obviously thats going too far but they shouldnt have any right to sue somebody for chucking them out of their house.

Also, someone was talking about the threat of violence being assault, if someone believes that because someone has broken into their home that the guy is going to hurt them doesnt that mean they are guilty of assault?
