its all in the training.
chi chi (female) bit me like mad until i finally got her to stop.
alot of scuffing and yelling "NO!!!!", but repetition will eventually reward,
as she hasnt bit me in over 6 months. she still play-nibbles, but it never hurts.
many say that even such playful nipping should not be tolerated, but i just
cant get her to stop...so i gave up on that. as long as i dont end up with two
puncture wounds, i dont care.

Aw, PVS... they're so purdy... ๐My babies...
the one on the right looks just like my boy. after i took those pics,
he shed and grew a big fuzzy coat. not only that, but the pattern on his
face changed from the typical bandit mask to just a white face with asmall patch over each eye.
its like he just turned into a different ferret. that happen to anyone else?
the girl had a similar experience, but only slight.
Who else doesn't know their Rodentiae from their Mustelidae???? Ferrets are only very distantly related to rodents.... by virtue of being mammals, and not much else.... you wouldn't say a cow was a member of the cat family, would you?? The mustelidae, of which ferrets are a member, are a group of small carnivorous mammals (rodents belonging to the herbivore half of the mammalidae) ranging from the small weasel (about 8" long) through the stoat, polecat/ferret, martens, mink, badgers (largest carnivore native to England) up to the wolverine (the largest of the group, if memory serves...) Next someone will be saying rabbits are rodents.....
