Doom 3 and HalfLife 2

which one is the best???

Half Life 2 by far.
Doom 3 just has graphics and good sound. The gameplay is stale.

And threads for these two have been made, go figure.

Half life 2 slays doom 3 in nearly every department. Doom 3 has one thing in it's corner though. It's use of texturing and graphics are masterfully done. Many games tried what doom achieved, but doom 3 is the only one to sucessfully deliver on all fronts of the graphics department. However the gameplay was stale and tired. There was no story, atleast no story we havent expirenced a thousand times.

Half life 2 delivered on all fronts. Great story, engaging gameplay, beautiful cinematics, awsome graphics and authentic characters...enough said.

I actually enjoyed Half-Life 2 graphics a tad bit more than Doom 3. I enjoyed its realistic take on it. It made the world look real almost. Doom 3 had awesome lighting effects though but the world looked faked and the character models look horrible.

Doom 3 beats HL2 in soooooooome aspects. Like the the demons, love em drool
But Half-Life 2 beats it at every thing else!. Its a frigin master piece. IMO

Dont knock it before you try it because Chronicles of Riddick is an fantastic game, especially for PC.

Actually i was serious. Escape from butchar bay is the most udnerated game of the past year. The entire experience felt new and original. It also happens to have the best character likeness of any game. True the story is simple, but it is engaging. The graphics rival doom, and in some aspects are better. The gameplay is designed brilliantly, you are not just running through the entire game blasting guns, and searching for ammo, infact sometimes using no weapons is the best way to go, because the darkness is your best weapon, things like that are nearly un heard of in FPS's. Pick it up, give it a try it's very decent. I hate the movies, but this game had me trying to convince myself the movies werent that bad, because the game was so good.

It's an awesome game. It's pretty short, but its a helleva of ride.

All of u guys are emature, all of u are probably ten years old if u say that Half Life 2 is better then Doom 3, or reverse. THEY BOTH RULE SOM CRAZY ASS, and deserved to be picked up at the store, so get ur act together and don't wine to us, be smart.

Yeah, your cool. Doom 3 is a piece of crap compared to Half Life 2. The only thing going for it is its graphics and its atmosphere at the start of the game. The level design is wishy washy until the very end, the AI is horrible, the gameplay is lacking because of the heavy reliance on atmosphere and graphics and the physics which they think is heavily touted, is horrible and actually detracts the game. For example, I shot off a rocket and exploded, smashing the barrel into a tight crevice where a ladder was standing. Due to the horrible physics, I couldn't move it because I couldn't pick it up. So I had to restart. And I did this numerous times.
Emature is actually spelled immature, so dont get off calling people ten years olds when yourself cant speak english. Shortforms of words is typical of a teenage who spends alot of time on MSN or ICQ.

Doom 3's bad guys are wayyy better than the one's in Half-Life 2.

Aside from that...Half-Life 2 was a much much better game in all areas.

I just really liked the creepy zombies that always seemed to walk up behind you. Especially the fat one.

Well it really depends on my mood, I LOVE scary video games, much superior then scary movie IMO, blair witch, SH, RE, you name it, its what I love, so when I'm in mood for good scare and and pure entertainment I go look for scary games, and Doom3 did it the best for me, but I also like games that require a little more of your brain and stuff, and there HL2 is a very good example for what a good think and dont shoot everything you see game, so i would say I like them equaly, origanl Doom still is my all time fav, and It will always be, its just magic to me!
