What Side Do You Hide?
If you were flipped like a coin,
If your mask was fully erased,
If your 2 selves were cojoined,
What would we see on your face?
Would you be hard as cobalt steel,
Or soft as delicate lace?
Would you be fake, or be real,
Acidic, neutral, base?
Could you still tell the lies you told,
Open as you have become?
Would you be timid, or be bold,
Intelligent or just plain dumb?
Do you hide a dragon on the inside,
Or perhaps a frightened mouse?
Do you hold onto a Wolf's pride,
Or too shamed to leave the house?
I have bared my soul to you,
Feel free to look around,
Would you open up to me too,
Or logoff without a sound?
My life is mine! Not yours to rule!
I am me! I am not you!
I will not lay down and die in peace,
I shall fight and I will not cease.
My sword in hand, shield buckled on,
My armor strapped down, my fears all gone,
Boots cinched tight, Helm closed fast,
This battle will not be my last!
You however shall tast of my steel.
Its stinging lash shall be all you feel.
When I am done, to home, I'll return.
And then my bloodlust shall no longer burn.
Haunting
My eyes are shut as I lay upon this cold and empty bed,
But I can still sense your body's warmth on silken sheets of red,
Your kiss still lingers on my lips, and forever tastes so sweet,
My skin can still feel your touch, my chest your heartbeat,
Your fragrant mane of raven tresses I can feel on my face,
That skin so soft, so pale and tender hidden by purest lace,
The fingers lovingly holding my cheek as we fall asleep,
Then I shake my head, remember you're gone, and I begin to weep.
