Merry Christmas to all!
I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys.
- Charles Dickens
Sometimes, when I drive across the desert in the middle of the night, with no other cars around, I start imagining: What if there were no civilization out there? No cities, no factories, no people? And then I think: No people or factories? Then who made this car? And this highway? And I get so confused I have to stick my head out the window into the driving rain---unless there's lightning, because I could get struck on the head by a bolt.
everyone but me, has a present to open tomorrow/today.

One time I licked a 9 volt battery.
I did that once too... and I stuck a D battery into my mouth once... almost fell on a downed power cable... took a step right before a tree branch fell on me and nocked me out... wait... that doesn't have to do with lightning (There had been an ice storm, and I was walking around in my back yard, stoped for a second to look around, then started walking again. However when I had only walked for about a step, I heard this crack-crack-crack followed by this HUGE tree branch crashing down right where I had been only seconds before)
I have to admit that one of science's greatest and coolest achievements with electricity is the Tesla coil.
I LOVE these things. And they are cool because you don't need wires to transmit the electricity from them... however you can see how they could be a bit dangerous...
