I feel so old.

Calm down you young whippersnapper. Just you wait untill you reach my age. wheelchair
O Captain my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.
Hehehe.

I assume you have seen that monstrosity of a film?

I saw the first 10 minutes or so. Never got to watching it all. I thought they should have cut it a bit faster. The slow pace and the quite well made CGI is what struck me most.

Ok was that the shiet that came out that everyone over at TFN was raving about??

Ok nevermind I see that it was....I went back and found my posts about this over at TFN. Im still laughing at that POS of a fan film.

Wow, reading this thread has been quite humorous at times. I downloaded and watched this. I looked at it from 2 different points of view. As a 44 year old Star Wars fan and as an 20 year English & Drama teacher. This film was mildy entertaining but only in the "camp" sense. You actually had a good storyline, but the acting and dialog pretty much kill this flick. This is not a personal attack on the actors ok? But if you are going to spend the amount of money and time that you obviously did to make this, perhaps using actual actors (and by that I mean people that have been on stage to a certain degree, even if its college theater majors) and having a screenwriter or someone with a journalistic background would have helped. I wasnt expecting a Lucas film but considering the amout of hype this has been given to date, I also expected something much better. Sorry.

DarthMeekandMild asked what could be learned from the way Panic Struck went about publishing and publicizing REVELATIONS. I think the first, and most important, element was that we defined our target audience.

By and large, there are two potential audiences. There's the one that already knows about fan films and frequents forums (such as this) that focus on them. This audience actually seeks out fan films and simply dropping a link in their direction is enough.

But, despite how it feels sometimes, this is an incredibly small audience. It isn't the majority of film fans or Star Wars fans or anything fans. It's limited and it's inbred, to the extent that it can't help but be influenced, both positively and negatively, by what its members create. Its collective definition of what's "new and exciting" is bounded by the fact that it really has seen just about everything already.

We wanted REVELATIONS to find another, wider audience. People who've never heard of fan films. The Star Wars fans who don't participate in active fandom. The computer geeks who're intrigued by what's possible on a home PC. Guys who build NASCAR shrines in their basements and understand the fun of being a fan. The general public, in other words.

For good or ill, REVELATIONS is the fan film standard for this new audience. Anything we did well, they will expect from other fan films. Anywhere we fell short, they'll assume the worst of the genre. That's the breaks. If another film had gotten into the mainstream first, we'd all be viewed based on its strengths and weaknesses.

Jedipriestess,
If you had taken the time to read the bios of the actors, or followed the link to thier resumes, you would have seen that Frank (Declan), Shane, (Director/Cade), and I (taryn) all have had extensive stage experience. And in Shanes' case, a college degree, and professional acting career. As a teacher, I would think you would do the research before making an uneducated statement.

Also, this particular subject has been addressed several times in the previous posts.

If you are going to take the time to present something you've created, then you should also take the time to respect the fact that not everyone is going to like what you've created. TO answer you honestly, I didnt take the time to read the bios of the actors, because quite frankly I was that unimpressed with this piece of work that I dont care. And perhaps this has been addressed before, but I only downloaded this vid this morning. Sweetie if you cant handle negative reviews then perhaps you should hang up your costume. It's just my opinion, it wont make or break your life, but I am entitled to it whether you agree with it or not. mischief Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.

Informed opinions generally deserve more respect than uninformed opinions....

Oh for heavens sake, forgive me for not doing my "research". Look, I kept hearing about this, so I downloaded it, didnt like it, posted that, and you peeps can't hang with my opinion. Damn, get it over it already. I can appreciate the fact that some of you think it's the best thing since sliced bread, I don't. Not a crime, just the way I feel. Grow up already. And if you expect people to comb through all the bios and stuff, then turn in a performance that will make the person viewing the flick go, "Hey they were really good, I wonder who that was?" instead of something that makes people feel like they are having root canal. doh! And thats my last word on this subject. 🙂

Oh and I did a cursory check, and none of those great thespians are paid actors making it big as of today 4 years later.

my baby[nephew] had surgery on his ears today, he's had and ear infection since Nov.

I visited him between classes earlier, he was looooooopy.

YouTube video

There was a funnier one before i got my camera out, he had just had his bottle, and was crawling on my sister [his mama] and then looked at her and burped, adn then looked at me and let another one out, and then for a second delay he just BUSTED out laughing. he never laughs at his burps. it was hilarious. i wish i got that on the camera...im so glad he finally got the rubes in his ears, bcuz i couldnt handle the night with him screaming his lungs out yanking at his ears bcuz they hurt so bad. the worst was when he'd sneeze and they'd pop. i'm just sensitive when he's hurting and i can't help him.

Surgery on ears? Does he look like the son of Mr. Spock now?

no his dad's more like Sloth's ears form the Goonies.
