Just got back from How To Train Your Dragon 😄It was fantastic! My high school aged daughter and her friend went along as well and they came out and said "Best movie ever! " I myself would go again in a heartbeat. 10/10 🙂
Yea, I enjoyed that movie also, we have it in 3D at the theater I work at (though, I'm not sure how long, because we are supposedly getting a 3D copy of Clash of the Titans and have only one 3D screen & projector). I myself would give it an 9/10. Only lost that point due to a couple of lines that, I thought, weren't really well done,
Spoiler:
for instance I kinda cringe when I hear Hiccup's end narration about their pet dragons.
I seen Alice... The 3D didn't add much.
For me that was interesting to see the difference between Avatar en Alice.. Avatar was shot differently to make the 3D work. Alice was shot as a normal film, looked nice but the use of lenses already created the, traditional, feel of depth. 3D didn't add all that much. Shows you have to film in a special way to make 3D work as an addition to the story.

DVD wont do Avatar justice. It will just be another movie as far as I'm concerned. The only was to really experience that movie is in the theater in 3-D. The storyline was nothing special but the 3-D work was indeed a sight to behold. A huge step forward for cinematography.
That's very true.
But that was one of the points that I made earlier to people also. What good is a movie if it only works in the theaters? It would have no further replay value afterward. I know most movies in general are a better experience at the movies than at home. Still, in my opinion, I would have serious problems with AVATAR loving it at the theaters, buying the DVD, and having it seem way more disappointing on a smaller screen. It sort of conflicts one another.
It does a bit maybe. Then again, it was specifically made to excel in 3D. And there are no things 'popping out at you'. I think that's Cameron's credit that he didn't use it for cheap effects. It made it a movie experience for the theatre.... and yes, I too dread a little what it will feel like on Blu Ray. But at least I had the 3D IMAX experience. No one will take that away.

Agreed. Its not that kind of 3-D. This was more a life-like type of 3-D if that makes sense. It was like you were actually there in the flesh for lack of a better description.
