You know what? I wasn't impressed with the 1st one either. Just way too damn many force powers in my opinion. For heavens sake you shouldn't be as powerful as Sidious. At least not in my opinion. Give me the original KOTOR any day over the games that came after it.
Yeah, the fact that they make you so powerful to begin with puts Luke Skywalker's supposed "most powerful Jedi ever" status to shame.
I really enjoyed the first game despite it's flaws, and thought it had some massive potential. After I got through the first one, all I wanted was the sequel in my hands so I could get slashing away at it. After two years, I finally got it.
The gameplay is a joy...it's really, really fun and improved over the first, but when the game suddenly comes to an end after 6 and a half hours of play....all you can think to yourself is "WTF, that's it?" It feels like they got halfway through production on this game, then said "screw it, let's just wrap it up here." There's only 4 levels in the whole game, plus one level on Dagobah where all you do is literally walk around for 20 minutes in Yoda's force cave and watch cut scenes. With the first game's biggest flaw begin it's short length, you think the first thing these guys would have done is make this game a lot longer. Instead, it's even shorter, no lie. I beat the first game in about 7 and a half hours. This one I beat in under 7, so that alone doesn't justify a 50 dollar price tag. In fact, this is a game you can rent for 5 bucks and beat in well under a day.
Really letdown by the game, but, I realize life goes on. I enjoyed what little the game had to offer, and was offended by how much it didn't offer.
Luckily I've been playing Goldeneye 007 on the Wii as well. Got the game for Christmas, and it's one awesome title. It does the original N64 version a lot of justice.
I want to give Black Ops a try soon.
I just beat Goldeneye on the Wii. Terrific game. Last two levels are extremely hard, but it was lots of fun.
Does it beat the original N64 game? Well, again, we have the ever so tricky term known as a "classic" and we all know what happens when we label something as "classic." You can never replace nor beat it regardless of what you do. But I can say, it most certainly lived up to it. The developers cared a great deal about making this game good, and it shows in both the gameplay and design.
Seems a lot of games these days are more focussed on looks (resolution, life like, HD, 3D) and engines than on an actual game you have to play that is rather original. Personally I find the amount of memory for all these looks limit the size of maps and amount of levels. A lot of gameplay is still the same. It looks outstanding but the actual gaming has not improved much IMHO.

I picked up a Super Nintendo over the holidays and we've been playing Super Mario Bros like a bunch of fiends. God those games are fun. 🙂 🙂 Next up is Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 as soon as I can find me a copy that isnt an arm or a leg.
