On Premiere CS5, I really darkened the layout so it almost looks black. lol It's pretty neat looking. I agree, when the surrounding area is kind of bright, it somewhat washes the colors out of the footage you're looking at. But I did darken CS5. You might have been able to darken CS3, but I can't remember.

But I'll take Adobe any day over Final Cut. If you know Premiere, then you pretty much can get the hang of FC. I just always like the layout and the way Premiere handles much better. My favorite Adobe product though.....After Effects! 😄 The sky's the limit with that thing.

FCP has just changed drastically if you didin't know yet. It's the new FCP Pro X that is such a major departure from FCP7 and so rather useless for production companies at the moment, that it's bound to go out of style unless Aplle reverts back to a more professional editing system.

For me it's basically back to AVID, I'm gonna updrage to the new MC 5.5... I guess it depends on my clients. If some decide to go for Premiere instead of FCP than Premiere will be added to the collection.

Encore hates me and my computer hates me. that is all.

I don't hate you.

me either if that counts any

None of us does...

i wasnt in class when my group short film was shown. when i asked my group how they reacted it seemed the class didn't care.... i thought it had quality, considering we didnt have anythign but a camera to work with.

Welcome to the world of film making.

A painful lesson to learn is that the audience doesn't care under what circustances you made the film, they just look at WHAT you made. If you're proud of it and leanr from te making experience... cherish that.

my new groups film is goign to be a fighter short. i have this vision of a doing a 360 turn around the people fighting. but we dont have the equipment for that. i'll need a track.

How about you push the camera man around in a radio flyer?

There are specs for this exact track readily available on the 'net. Fairly cheap too. I'm still planning on making a short film one of these days using kids in my family for cheap actors.

That's the way to do it.

my teacher makes us use w/e we can find. i guess it makes student appreciate film making more. i need a friend in a wheelchair.

I'm a friedn, you get me a wheelchair. 😉

ooe we got a new studnet in our classa nd i told him to be in our group, and it turns out hes a badass with film gear. he's int he army and has prop guns and cameras that can do 1st person shots. and he has a canon t3i, so that mean we can use my lens for filming while veryone else used a cam'corder. w00t.

Sweeeeeeeet. 😎

I've been wanting to buy a very suitable camera for a while now.

In november Canon will release a small, semi-professional camera with a 35mm chip... I believe you can get a version that can EOS lenses as well. THings are getting SWEET.

WTG, Jen... I got a second hand Canon 600D... with my Canon L-series lens 24-70mm I can make very nice shots now...

im still saving for the canon 5D mark ii. but i dont know when the mark iii is suppose to be introduced.

Yes, I think it is, sometime soon.

I don't regularly film myself with such camera's... I use the smaller video camera's like the Sony Z1 or EX1... When I need some bigger guns I work with cameramen... And I know a lot who own the 5D. Ik makes nice shots, but it's nice a very easy VIDEOcamera... plus the resolution in wider shots isn't great, it loses a lot of detail.

im not sure if i dig the res of the 5d when it comes to it clarity. it does a lot of color noise from what i've seen in the photos i edit for our paper. but that could be from them not taking photo in Raw.

either way its the only camera i can somewhat afford to save up for. and it gets the job done and well.
