everything should be able to go here!
You've been here over 3 years and you're still trying to use this as an excuse? Oh my ****ing God, get it right. It's just as Lana said, anything that doesn't belong elsewhere on KMC can go here. Hence why when people open religious threads in the OTF (however rare) they get moved to the Religion Forum where they belong.

i'm not discussing a book in its totality here exactly. i'm discussing some of the ideas it presents.
It doesn't matter, you're still discussing things the book represents, quotes from the book.

Why do you assume it's a book. sleepyAnd she's discussing quotes relating to happiness, OTF forum much. herbnone
Because it is a book? And she even titled the thread the same name as the book. It doesn't belong here.

This thread wasn't meant to discuss the book or the film for that matter. i wanted to use excerpts from it to express an idea!

i came across these quotes and they struck home i guess..."And it was at that time that I thought about Thomas Jefferson writing that Declaration of Independence. Him saying that we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I thought about how he knew to put the 'pursuit' in there, like no one can actually have happiness. We can only pursue it . And maybe we can actually never have it no matter what."

"The next day, after work, we just went to the beach. Far away from anything. Far from everything. Just Christopher and me.
Far away from buses, and noise and a constant disappointment in my 10 gallon head,
and in myself . . .because when I was young and I'd get an A on a history test or whatever, I'd get this good feeling about all the things I could be and then i never became any of them ."
I believe that you are a romantic 😕

Never the less you are discussing parts of the book, and what they mean to you. Isn't that what a Book Club does? They do the same thing. Therefore this would fall under Book Discussion.

but the pursuit of happiness, you can be happy for moments in my opinion, but there will always be something that comes along to make you unhappy for a period of time, its like a roller coaster i guess
