[B]Well, I understand that you are a fan of Cyclops. I've never really focused too much energy on Cyclops, because he is a very stereotypical "leader" "good Guy" Boyscout" type of character. And I think he is exactly what he should be. But, James Marsden, while fun to look at, even behind the visor, did what was asked of him. So, I can understand any issues you have with Bryan Singer for scripting him the way he did.
i have issues with both... more with singer i suppose for casting marsden in the first place 😬
I agree, Wolverine isn't the only X-Man. And I also agree that too much attention was paid to him. But, the quote below is right. He is the most well known X-Man. Wolverine will get more butts in the seats than Cyclops or Magneto
true, but the comics (for the most part) and even the animated show gave a bit more balance (though they had a bigger time frame), still though, they could have done it if they had tried...
I assume you're also a Psylock fan.
what gave it away 😛
That's cool. And as for Colossus, you can't make too many characters a focal point in the movie, and we had both Iceman and Pyro to deal with in the second and a huge Rouge focus in the first one...along with the other characters that were in it. I assume that Colossus was introduced, much like Bobby in the first one, so that he could play a larger role in the next one. That way he can play a role and not have to be a new character, but rather a part of the established lore of the film. No extra time need be spent on him than has to be.
thats exactly what i mean... movie one: rogue and wolverine, movie two: rogue, wolverine, iceman and pyro...
pyro is a secondary character, always will be... it seemed a bit dumb to me... of course so was making iceman a child imo... but i do understand what you mean there and have a similar opinion myself...
And I personally wouldn't use the term "slick" to describe the production, as that implies some sort of dishonest effort. I think Bryan Singer did an excellent job of making this world plausible...relatable. And that is something that has to be considered when making a movie versus a cartoon movie...or publishing a comic book.
i didn't mean slick in a bad way, more of a polished way... well produced...
And I suppose that is my point in all of this. I wanted a franchise that was executed in a plausible and believable way so that I didn't walk out of the theater saying.." WOW!..this really should have been a cartoon movie..what a waste" I grew up reading the comic and watching the cartoons. But I wasn't interested in the same old thing. And I feel that Bryan Singer delivered what I was expecting. Like Cyclops said: "Would you prefer yellow spandex?" Well, no...I wouldn't. Who would believe such a thing? I couldn't swallow it, since it was supposed to be taking place in the real world.
oh i completely agree, it has to seem relatable and have at least some sense of reality...
BUT! All that being said, I respect your point of view. Cheers.
as do i respect yours 😄
as for the oscars? they are political...
