Superman is obviously more well-known than the X-men. No one is disputing this fact.
He is, however, much less interesting. Yay, hes an icon. Icons are 2-dimensional.
The X-men are much more modern, and I think they speak to a more modern audience, including todays kids. Superman symbolized the greatest generation, and to an extent, he was revered by the baby boomers who grew up worshipping that era...
The modern issues of tolerance, bigotry and the Civil Rights movements are captured in the X-men, which is why I think they have more of an impact among today's kids and the children of the 90's.
Oh, and SP loses. 😄

The Dark Phoenix is a cosmic deity one of the most powerful in all of comics, she can tap into the past,present,and future powers of the universe and she eat suns for the hell of it. Dark Phoenix will mind rape him so bad it won't be funny, rearrange his molecules at a high rate. Dark Phoenix is limitless in power, can fight for years, all she have to do is absorb his solar energy and leave him drifting in space.

I am a big Supes fan....my all-time favorite. That being said, it pisses me off to see the amount of Supe fanboys "dumb" down the fan base, when they can't give a fact to support a claim, or realize when he may be beaten sometimes.

I respect that🙂, you are a true fan not because you are superman fan because you are a comic fan. And you have common sense unlike your counter parts on this forum.
Darkone, I don't have a proverbial "pot to piss in" because not much is really known about Supes Primes powers or accomplishments for that matter.....too mysterious still.
And yes, DP just about unbeatable. This is an incredibly interesting thread that leaves a lot to one's imagination, but I'd have to say DP until Supes Prime starts appearing more often and showing his stuff....he's too much of wild card to call him in this one.
How can you guy's sit there and give DarkPhoenix the fight if you truly don't know the true extent of Superman Prime's powers?
Dark Phoenix does have cosmic-level powers BUT at the end of the day she's "mortal". Superman Prime has been said to be "immortal" as he is saddened that he can't join Lois in the afterlife. He possesses the very powerful GL ring, Sword of Heaven, can bend reality, create his own source of energy(there goes Phoenix draining his powers). If anyone has the proverbial "edge" it's Superman Prime.Bursting down the the doors of Heaven itself may not prove the "extent" of his strength but it shows he is a helluva lot more powerful than your average Superman(which is indeed strong).
But, Superman is not too popular in these forums and a version of him that could rival even Galactus would be unheard of and easily dismissed. Even the "some" of the crossovers in which Superman won is deemed totally unusable in these forums.
In my opinion Prime was invented to boost Superman's power up to it's highest extents and make him arguably the strongest Hero in the comics. Giving him over the top weaponry and defeats of Gods and Demons.
One can argue on this forum that they didn't see the true extent of SP's power, with that being said they can't argue the "limits" of his power and state that Dark Phoenix can beat him, half of the ones saying this probably haven't even read the One million comics.

you can make the claim all you'd like, in the end it's simply speculation on your part and on the part of anyone trying to gauge the extent of prime's power. in 80 000 years, perhaps he's developed abilities never hinted at. impossible to tell WHAT level he is on, except to say he effortlessly crushed a millennia-old being who had killed hundreds of supermen through the ages, each far more powerful than OUR superman, and who was capable of defeating/killing the combined might of all the 853rd century's heroes. and we know how powerful the jla 1M alone was.
does that put him at dp's level? who knows! could dp have crushed solaris so effortlessly? maybe. i've seen her wipe out stars before, but don't forget, this star fights back - HARD. in the end, not i (or anyone else) can say yes he is at dp's level, or galactus's level, or whatever level, because i/we don't 'know', just like i/we can't say no he's NOT at that level because, again i/we don't 'know'. there is simply not enough evidence to use to support arguments in prime's favor. in a way though, THAT'S what makes it fun to debate him, so long as everyone remembers no one's GUESS can be proven right or wrong.

Defeating Solaris is the only so call feat, not much a feat for someone like Dark phoenix who rivals Galactus in power.
Is Prime stronger than he was shown maybe, he did beat Solaris easily, but anything else is just a guessing game.
So far someone at Odin’s level can easily do what he did.
I personally think Superman Prime was Above Sky father level and close to Cubes
