Hitler was a hero in the eyes of some Germans and his fellow Nazi comrades. He persecuted Jews mainly as Jews greatly affected Germany in WW1 and after that. He hated the Jews mainly becoz of this. There could be some other reasons for such hatred towards the Jews. Germany had lost land to her neighboring nations after WW1 and Hitler wanted to reclaim them, as well as forge a new Nazi Empire for Germany. The other nations were unhappy with Hitler's politics and went to war against him. I personally support Adolf Hitler. To tell you the truth, my grandfather was once a Nazi.
At the time Hitler was exactly what Germany needed. he led a strong government that spoke of glory for Germany. Germany was experiencing a time of depression after ww1, people were very poor and Germany was being controlled by the League of Nations. the Germans weren't even involved in the creation of the treaty of versailles - it was embarassing to them. Jews were used as scapegoats by many people during that time - mostly because they were wealthy while the rest of Germany was very poor. Hitler believed his previous leaders let Germany down by ending ww1 (he was in hospital at the time and before he was wounded Germany was winning - he didn't understand what happened. therefore he blamed the leaders and felt he had been stabbed in the back) He then saw Germany become practically nothing.
I can fully understand how the German people supported Hitler in the beginning - he was a strong leader with definate goals - glory for the German people and the empire they deserved. he gave structure to their society - even had military style groups for children. he was determined to reach his goals and have the 3rd reich that would live for 100 years or more.
by then the German people had given him the power and he abused it and them.
