Love is more important. Love means a lot more when you're dying than sex does! How can love not be more important? It is another order of experience altogether, while sex is a physical pleasure, which is glorious but being physical, it's tied to our health and youth, to our bodies, which in time will themselves become much less central in our experiences. Love is also not what people think it is; it's not that state of mutual idealization and denial that many people chase, which is really isolating and undermining to each participant. Love is partnership that goes beyond sex into maximizing other experiences which are better when shared.
