A negation cannot be proven. If a phenomena is non-existent, there would be no evidence of its existence, let alone its non-existence; it simply would not be. Therefore, the fact that a one cannot prove that God does not exist does not invalidate the argument that God does not exist in the same way that the inability to prove that God exists would invalidate the argument that God does exist.
