This is Bullshit. Of course we don'T think it is good that Islam is against Homosexuals, but it just happens that our cultures are influenced by Christians mostly. None th4e less I neither see why Gays would want to preach in a church that is against them nor do I see a reason why the church should be forced to accept gays.
If I would Start a GROSS (Get Rid Of Slymy girlS) Club I shure wouldn
'T want any female to lead it.
"Open minded is just like fashion... someday you'll be outdated... you still need to maniputate your mind, to accept new things, such as technology..."
There's no use by date for intelligence buddy. Accepting new things IS open minded, you contradict yourself. The bible is very very old, NEW things have happened since.....Gays in the church for example. I believe you mentioned accepting new things?
"Islam also believes that the gay lifestyle is wrong and no one has a problem with that. People just like to pick on the Christians."
When the thread title says "Gays in the Mosque" we can go there.

What if mass murder is part of that new thing? Would you accept it, since you are "open minded"?
By accepting new things without consideration is acting just like one piece of sh!t... you know that right?

Gays in the church isn't something new. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah??
You are allowed to by gay and in a church, just not a practicing gay. At least trying not to. Just like alcoholics...trying not to. lyres...trying not to..etc.

If it was, well maybe, but it isn't now is it.And chances are it won't be soon.
And you don'T seriouisly compare being gay with mass murder?
I mean the fact of where an open mind will lead to... they just follow some people saying things without consideration of their own... They think they know it all...
"I see idiots everywhere, but they do not know that they are idiots..." modified version of sixth sense...

Depends who the mass murder is of and what the reasons are for committing it.Open-mindedness isn't about acceptance, not wholly. It's about seeing WHY things are being accepted and looked at, despite agreeing or disagreeing. Which I do.

What you said compared to finti is a total contradiction of each...
Yes but that applies to sheep doesn't it? If you follow blindly you're a sheep, regardless of if you believe alot or a little.
All the open-minded people I've ever met have been just that, open-minded. You say where it will lead like it's a bad thing. It leads to somewhere, closed minds lead nowhere. While only forward movement is progression, being open-minded doesn't guarantee that a human will become some loose cannon.

Remember Sodom and Gomorrah?
The city of Sodom was destroyed because its citizens were arrogant, greedy, inhospitable, and unsympathetic toward the disadvantaged such as foreigners, the poor, and widows:
Ezekeiel 16: 49-50Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had arrogance, abundant food and careless ease, but she did not help the poor and needy.
Thus they were haughty before Me Therefore I removed them when I saw it.
Indeed, homosexuality is not cited anywhere in Genesis 19, the story of Sodom and Gomorra, as a reason for the destruction of either city.
While a condemnation of rape can be concluded from this passage, it has nothing to do with homosexuality. Had the gender of the angels been female, it still would not have been acceptable for the mob outside of Lot's home to try to rape them.
Christianity is the biggest religion in the world, with some 3,1 billion people.
Islam is on second place with 1,3 billion and Hinduism comes in third with 900 million.
So it’s perfectly okay to pick on the worlds biggest religion, if it’s as conservative as a cranky old Republican. The Catholic Church is so old-fashioned it kills people. It won’t allow contraception to protect against HIV, and it’s easy for those lame old men to keep insisting on that, seeing as Catholic priest live in celibacy.
Heck, even masturbation by men is illegal in the Catholic Church.
But if a gay man (or woman if we’re talking Protestantism) wants to serve the Christian God, why not? Paedophiles have, and they are actually evil people – gays are not.
Not that I understand why any gay person would want to – seeing as old faulty translated books make their sexuality an “abomination”.
PeterKSL>”What if mass murder is part of that new thing? Would you accept it, since you are "open minded"?”
Mind telling me how gays as priests relate to mass-murderers?
Gays as priests don’t do anyone any harm. So being open-minded about that is being… open-minded. Accepting mass-murderer is just plain lunacy – I can’t believe I have to say that…

Trying not to? Trying not to what? Either you do it or you don't...there is no trying not to. How Yoda of me.
Anyway, your use of the story of "Sodom and Gaomorrah" to illustrate your point is interesting to me. Now, what you think about the bible is irrelevent to me. And I'm not saying you subscribe to it in any way, but I'm going to use your point to make my own.
This whole religion thing thats seems to be sweeping the country is just as irritating to me as homosexuality is to other people. We had a lot of fake progress in the last decade in regards to accepting that homosexuality is a part of life in this world. But, it was taken to such an extreme that there is now a backlash. As I have been saying forever, this faux acceptance of homosexuality is just a sham. Shows like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy or Queer as Folk...even Will and Grace... do nothing for the cause of homosexuals. It puts them in a stereotyped spotlight for the amusement of the rest of the world. It makes them center ring acts for the entertainment of a bored and mindless public. People can not say they accept homosexuality just because they like Will and Grace. People can not pretend they care about the rights of gay people because they think "Queer Eye is a cute show...and funny and HaHa!..look at those silly fags! They a riot!" It's false acceptance.
Situations like going back and saying that Matthew Sheppard was killed in a drug deal gone wrong...rather than because he was gay is back peddling by a conservative majority that wants to undo the good that his murder has brought about.
I'm not asking anyone to accept my homosexuality. It makes little difference to me what people think about gays. All I ask is that we not be treated like second class citizens...like we are less than human and should be greatful to heterosexuals for the rights they see fit to bestow on us. I'm not asking for gay rights...I'm asking for human rights. And maybe there should come a time when we stop asking and start taking. The same way that some heterosexuals look at it. Next time I see a straight couple holding hands in a parking lot on the way to their car, maybe I should bash their heads in with a tire iron. OR, not even get out of my car and just run them over.
You know what, not ever one believes the same things that every one else does. That's ****ing life. That's the god damn world we live in, like it or not. What makes me sick is that minority of religiouos people that want to force their beliefs on the rest of the world. In that respect, they're no better than islamic fundamentalists. They want to fly a proverbial plane into the side of life...to get THEIR beliefs to be accepted by the rest of the world. **** THAT! Fine, you believe in God and his wrath...good...now sit down and shut up! If I'm gonna burn in hell for sucking another guys dick, that's between me and god...you have no say in the matter. I am disgusted by the vocal minority of christian extremists that think just because they pray that everyone else should too! Are you guys so insecure in your beliefs that you need everyone else to buy into it to feel better about it?
You don't wanna see me kiss my boyfriend...and I don't want to see you praying in public. We see things differently..leave it at that. You live your life, and I'll live mine.
Cheers.

It’s clearly stated in the bible that a man and a man is not acceptable and neither is a woman and a woman. I think it would be a bloody disgrace if they were accepted it goes against gods rules how can they be sinning and then wish to join priesthood its mad. First they want to marry each other then they want to become priests I hope I don’t sound homophobic or anything like that but when enough is enough it has to be said.
What a mean thing to say!
How dare you doubt other peoples hope and dreams!

Sounds to me like you're not a Christian at all. Are you saying that you are a Christian because your parents make you go to church on Sunday? Lots of people go to church and believe that makes them good Christians. Look how much time Catholic priests spend in church. Does that mean they're still good catholics when they have their hands up an alter boys robes? Of course not. If you're not a fan of the Christian religion(in any of it's denominations) then don't call yourself one.
I'm not pointing this at you, but I think you're coming from a mindset that is reflective of a huge problem in this country. If you don't subscribe to a belief system, then don't identify yourself as a member of said system. I think a lot of people in America think of themselves as Christians simply because they have been raised in a world where it's shoved down their throats. Not to mention there is a specific part of the constitution of this country that not only guarentees your right not to have religion forced on you, but also that there is a seperation of church and state. Too many people view this as a theoretical part of the guaranteed rights of every citizen of this country. And for some reason, the people who view this a theoretical are running the country these days.
