Just from the title, I can tell that this thread is nothing but smut. 😉

It really makes no sense to me why a gay person would want to associate themselves with any Christian church, let alone join in its administrative duties.

It's like a black person joining the KKK.

But In catholocism, Priest should be neither gay or straight, so thats really a moot point, but with Protostins (Sp??) They should not hold a double standard. I could make a case about Jesus being gay...

True. And while I dislike it, and think that the whole "but the bible says homosexuality is wrong" is wrong (damn the Church institution) there are rules, and would be difficult for the Church to maintain its stance on homosexuality with Gay priests.... bah, its all so foolish, if a gay person believes in God, and wishes to dedicate himself to his service, he should be allowed, and besides, it becomes moot anyway for those denomination that still enforce celibacy. After all, the Church aims to save souls, it seems so self defeating to then drive away members of a group who it seems would be happy to work for the Church (considering the concerns that are rising as numbers of new priests are falling rapidly)

we have gay priests in norway, and before the church condemning homosexuality it may look into the possibility of what relations jesus and his 12? followers might have practised. (I acknowledge the fact that a man called jesus or something like that stired up some hell around Israel around 2000 +- or so years ago, its the divine thing I dont buy.)

So basically what Im saying is that I think jesus had sexual relations with one, or more, of his disciples

I second it - Jesus loved boys and so did John the Baptist, so why don't they play a more prominent role in the modern church?

Give it up! There is no convincing those who believe that they speak in the words of god. As soon as they are gods themeselves, they'll understand.

If you need to go to a church to be told how to talk to an omnipotent being then you shouldn't care if it's a gay or straight man/woman doing it. They're all telling you the same thing. If he is so omnipotent he should be able to talk to you, not through a priest. God doesn't need a PR man, but if YOU do, it shouldn't matter what sexuality they are should it?
