wiki pritty inaccurate actaully I have gotten into quite a few arguements with there staff. A siebrian tiger has reached 1200 pounds before in the wild they have reach 1,100 pounds.
When assessing the largest big cat in the world they use only animals found in the wild.
also even 1,400 pound liger is weak, slower and woudl get stomped by a siberian tiger.
Liger actaully not made for battle and would die if put in the wild due to lack in speed and stamina. They over heat at an extremly fast rate dude to there size and havign the disadavntages of the lion such as longer front legs and not being able to deal with the posion there body produces which effects there stamina.
Sorry I should have been more clear I am use to being in an animal forum were it a given when talking about the largest big cat.

EDIT: And there have been reported sightings. It's called a "Dogla". An old male hybrid was found a few years back.
So yeah, that's a liger, but it's not nearly as cool as a dogla.

out of all the big cats the tiger and lion are the closest relatives which allowed them to reproduce.........ligers and well as the other version ( which I forget the spellign at the moment) often have stripy spots such as the picture you provided. Not to mention ive seen that picture before and on the web sight it says it a liger.............lol
