I really find that hard to believe.. everytime I come across a 1v1 with a horde I usually dont lose 🙁 unless they have like tier 2 or 3 class sets.. then theres a bit of a discrepancy o_o
however I guess it relies heavily on who's behind the character... although I've spent some time on horde to come to the conclusion that the user base is evenly distributed among both factions.. you know.. b.net kiddies.. hardcore players.. and the general populace who have little to no internet experience
my wild guess (or conclusion) , besides the fact that its server based , is possibly a lack of leadership.. which I guess hordes have.. I rarely come across anyone willing to take the leading role
so how does a normal game of bg go for horde.. I mean commandeering-wise.. does someone take reigns as leader?.. I doubt you guys run around FFA'ing lol
I dunno, I don't do BG very often. I'm waiting untill lvl 60 to do that. I was joking, horde doesn't = skill. From my experience BG has little to do with actual skill and more to do with just experience and gear. Whoever knows the area best tends to win.
From my experience there's more of a brotherhood type feeling between horde players. Horde is the underdog on almost every server, so we've come to have a lot of respect for our fellow horde because we rely on eachother and need help from the allies who rely on zerg tactics.
That's another thing. Since the alliance is dominant when it comes to numbers on most servers, they are just used to running through and winning every normal encounter through sheer numbers, so when they come across a horde group that is of equal level, they tend to underestimate them.
Horde learn more tactical ways to win pvp battles simply because they usually have to. Alliance just zerg to win in everything but battlegrounds most of the time on a lot of servers.
But it's different on every server. Some servers the horde really are more skilled then alliance. On Archimonde, for instance, horde almost always dominates pvp because they just seem to be better at it.
Just today, for instance, I was in western plaguelands pvping, and some good group pvp started. It was pretty even, around 5 vs 5 or so. We(The horde) pretty much rocked the alliance everytime, I don't think one horde died during the whole battle. We killed all the alliance, several times. And this was a very equal battle.
It may also have to do with the horde having the better faction only class (Shaman) then alliance. It's no secret that Shaman are probably the most powerful class in teh game. They can beat any other class, usually. They have good nuking, good healing, and good survivability. Paladins have almost no offense, good healing and good survivability. Though, since I'm a priest my experience with Paladins are pretty good. I've never lost to a Paladin in one on one pvp, and paladins don't really do much in group pvp other then just take a long time to die.
So, I dunno. Take it for what you will.
The brotherhood thing is astonishingly true. When I hit the trip peak at level 29, I decided to stay at that level for a while and start getting honor kills. Along the way, I've recognized several 'brothers', as well as some enemies too. If I meet them while questing, I wave hello at them.
Those with more experience of the particular BG have a better chance of winning, but only if they stick in groups together.
Ah, thanks to you both for bringing an authentic and constructive insight towards faction based battles 😄
as for me, I'm a ret pally, so I manage to conjure decent burst dps. I have a doomsaw which usually allows me to be noticed in combat lol, but I'd get crushed by an Unstoppable Force user most likely (wouldnt be the first time either >_<😉. Hopefully in patch 1.9 they'll make us a bit more combat savvy 😊

So far, a total of....*counting* five of us have accumulated on the Horde side of Terenas, with new alt characters.
Me: "Gaskal", Orc Warrior.
Mist: "Goroth", a Tauren Druid.
Ronny: "Tabytha", an orc shaman.
Wild Cherry: "Gilley", Tauren Hunter.
Wolflet: Not sure what she is.
But I would definitely like to take a screenshot of something similar to what I have at the top of my profile. 😊

I'm guessing I should make a Horde guy? xD
Depends on who you ask. No horde player in the 6 million+ basis of WoW will tell you to play Alliance instead. Personally I love the alliance, not exactly all of the players, but I love it 🙂 I've made a few Horde characters in the past, but I just got extremely bored with them (running around in Durotar and the Barrens for hours is hard for me). Plus, the Barrens chat trap gets me everytime.
But then again I also find that a lot of the Horde players are just jerks, or think they are better simply because they play Horde and Alliance is "EZ Mode". Look, unless you've played an Alliance character to 60, don't tell me it's EZ mode. Because you have nothing to base your opinion off of.
I play a 60 Paladin on the Windrunner PvE server, but Windrunner has gone way, way downhill since I began on it last February. So I rerolled an NE warrior on the Mannoroth PvP realm, and I can't wait to get him up there and start kickin' some serious Horde ass.
*Note - I know I know not all Horde players think they are better, but I've just run into a lot who do. I've never played a Horde character to 60, so I can't say that I've gotten the ultimate experience, interaction wise.
But yeah, Horde have better racials 🙂
Having played both an alliance to 60 and a Horde to 60, I think the alliance has better content while leveling. Their quests, especially the ones from lvl 10-30 are much more interesting and have better lore behind them. Leveling in zones like Westfall and Duskwood, which have really neat backstories are just great. While leveling in The Barrens, Thousand Needles, and Stonetalon Mountains are just kinda...meh.
After 30 the content is more or less the same for each faction.
