Anyone on KMC play the drums?

I'm trying to learn how to play, but I have no knowledge, but I DO have a drumset. If there's any advice/tips you could give me for as to how to get started, or places I could go to learn, or good drumming tab sites, or so on and so forth, feel free to give me advice. Thanks.

first off you need to learn to use each limp speratly

i play drums i dunno i have my own style of playing i guess i didnt get lessons or anything like that i just taught myself

Independence of limbs is way down the line of what you need to lear: in fact, most drummers don't really use that skill.

from FF316 #2:meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ido and i am a girl it is so fun but u just need 2 practice

I have the force with me whenever i play droolio

ive been playing since i was 12 😊 its fun... just.. dont complian about the pain and effort it takes

drums are easy...if you've got rythym...the only hard part about playing drums is timing the fills to get back into rythym again

practice makes perfect

i would say start with the kick drum...do a constant beat and build around it...once your a bit more comfortable then you can start introducing simple one or two beat fills...

once you've got the basic "rock" beat then you can move onto other styles...like swing...gggrrrRRR...SWING I ****ING HATE THE SEING BEAT...IT WAS THE BAIN OF MY EXISTENCE WHEN STARTING TO PLAY THE DRUMS

its ok...i'm calm now

Exactly. That's mostly soloist, latin, jazz/swing and fusion drummers. With some exceptions of course. I'm just generalizing.

I am a drummer for about 8 years now. 🙂

Wow. I can already tell your talentless. Your ignorance for the art shows with the statement "drums are easy...if you've got rythym...the only hard part about playing drums is timing the fills to get back into rythym again". There is MUCH more to drumming than fills.

Also, your idea of learning how to drum is ridiculous. You should learn basic snare drum rudiments before anything else. Hand/foot coordination doesn't come until you've got hand coordination. Sticking techniques are way more important than timing when you're a beginner.

You probably hate swing because you can't get past a simple 4/4 rock groove. Get some lessons, it's 1,000,000x harder to teach yourself with ideas like that.

I call upon AC to give his two-cents to jaden101! 😱

I hope he shows up....

It may sound stupid but you should first orient yourself with the sticks (learn how to hold and find the balance) it something stupid that a lot of people screw up on.

thats true .

im talentless...hahaha,,,you've got no clue...drums has nothing to do with timing you say...well given that it is the drums and bass that are responsible for the timing of every band then i would say that timing is everything for a drummer

as for your point about hand timing being more important...i would say maybe...but hand timing is easier than feet timing...

you do it your way...i'll do it mine...if you dont like the way i do it...tough luck...

the way you write about drums is like saying that there is a set way of learning every instrument and that everyone must follow those patterns to be good...and then we wonder why all music sounds the same
