Yuri stayed glued to her place, lazily brushing her fingers past her bloodied lips as she watched Orion exit the cavern. Tasting the liquid, she shivered, her feet starting to buckle as her legs lost the ability to support her weight. Falling to her knees, she bowed her head down into the ground, instantly snapping her face back up from the damp cold earth.
Kneading a hand through the soil, she struggled to get a grip over her sudden weakness, her sudden surge in emotions. Closing her eyes, nibbling mindlessly at her lip, she allowed her right hand to drift over to the fresh bite in her throat. Gently prodding two fingers onto the new wound, she moaned, shuddering violently. Snapping away her hand, she groaned frustrated at her reaction, slamming both fists to the ground and saying the only word that could sum up her situation. “F*CK!!!!!”
“F*ck?” Yuri turned her head to the side, out of the shadows stepping a curious Khimaria. She crossed her arms. “That’s a new one, I’ll give you that much.”
Thinking back to the previous scene, Yuri blushed furiously, sluggishly starting to sit up. Eyes on the ceiling, she hid her embarrassment with a careful frown. “Tell me…how long have you been watching?”
Khimaria stepped closer, now standing over Yuri. “Up to the ‘f*ck’ part…you will have to explain to me just what that means as soon as you tell me,” With a small grunt, she stooped down, examining the two bleeding holes composing Yuri’s neck. “Who did this to your neck…?”
Getting to her feet, Yuri steadied herself with the help of the wall. She still didn’t have a complete hold over the bizarre sensation that had overwhelmed her. Concealing her wound with a clean palm, she grimaced. “It is nothing,” It came out defensively, Yuri unable to admit that Orion had bit her, that she had allowed him to bite her…that...she had savored every last minute of it, from his hold around her waist to the fangs that had broke through her flesh.
Growing incredibly shamefaced at her last thought, she closed her eyes, pounding a fist weakly into the wall. She sighed heavily, glancing sideways to Khimaria. Eyes now holding a tired look, she shrugged. “I am going to go change from this robe. Have a small confrontation, then go out for the evening. If you are not too busy you should join me,” Standing straight, her hazel eyes gained their trademark glow, a scheme in her mind. “We should at least know our way around the city before we considering taking over the world. Meet me outside if you will go?”
Raising a brow sheepishly, Yuri strolled back to her dwelling, exchanging the robe for a pair of fitted black jeans, small silver buckles going down each side. Slipping into a cut navy blue t-shirt, she pulled on her boots, equipping herself with two daggers. Four to five days left until my katanas come back from shop. Be strong, Yuri. Be resourceful.
Almost smiling, she licked away the leftover blood from her lips, venturing with a determined face to the overcast day outside. Forcing back the cold, snow longer falling, she made note of her surroundings. Xornon was sitting rather calmly in front of the entrance, fiddling with a throwing knife. Dante was rubbing his arms for warmth, Orion standing by the sitting vampire.
She let out a breath. Walking until she reached Orion’s side, she debated silently to herself whether anything should be said. Gaining a vague expression, she forced out her voice. “I…” She sighed, apathy claiming her. “It is not required that you give me your undying loyalty and respect, that is Khimaria’s privilege. The only thing I ask is you do not expose yourself…that you accept what you are. While my…hatred towards humanity may seem blind, pointless even, there is a reason for everything; you must keep that in mind…” Checking on the status of a heel, Yuri started to murmur. “But if it will help in our…revolution of sorts if I tone down the malevolent attitude, I will make an attempt to…change.”
“But I have one…” She laughed slightly. “Minor quibble,” Cold glare resting on Orion’s casual expression, her hand whipped out, fingers digging into his throat. She narrowed her eyes. “If you ever bite me again, whether it be for pleasure or pain, permission or no, I will strike you down.” She didn’t care if her dark emotions temporarily left her, she was too displeased with her lack of focus after such a move.
Releasing him after a second, she turned her eyes on Xornon, a cough escaping his lips, a poor attempt to hide a small chuckle. Turning from Orion, she hovered over the vampire, hand on her hip in scrutiny. “Find something humorous…?” He made no response, resuming nimbly playing with the silver knife. “Xornon, I am speaking to-”
“I heard you,” he cut in coolly, silver knife gliding in between fingers. Orange eyes burning through the metal, he continued. “You will have to excuse it but I think from now on I will take my requests and little orders from Khimaria and Khimaria alone.”
“Is that so?” Yuri was amused, not knowing whether to laugh or be insulted. She chose a mixture of both. “Pity…I was actually beginning to enjoy your company. I find anybody who can almost kick my ass amusing. Well, freeze then.”
Rolling her eyes, a movement could be seen from the woods. Closing her eyes, she massaged her temples. Everything was starting to happen a little too fast, she couldn’t even get a chance to relax. Ready to kill the approaching female, she frowned as the woman came closer, looking over every little thing in avid wonder.
Smirking bemused, Yuri crunched across crisp white snow, snapping frozen twigs underfoot as she neared the stranger. Holding curly brunette locks no longer than shoulder length, blood decorating most of her grimed attire, she stared to Yuri curiously. Extending a hand, she started to reach for her hair, Yuri stopping her attempt with a simple grab to the wrist. Her smirk grew into a broad smile. “Airy…it seems not even sleep could change you.”
Airy made a face, a grin starting to appear. She stared up to her curious. “Yuri…?”
“In a manner of speaking,” content that another familiar vampire was in her midsts, she gently wiped at Airy’s bloody cheek. “I take it your curiosity has finally gotten you into trouble?”
“Yeah…sorta…no, but this is what happened…” She started to replay the events of the night for Yuri, starting from her meeting with Xzaar, to the cotton candy at the carnival, eventually reaching her ‘Yuri moment’ where she had taken down her kidnappers from the alleyway.
Nodding her head with a small smile as she listened, back to the entrance of the cave, she put a finger to her lips, then motioning to each character. “Airy, this is Orion, Xornon, and his…accomplice Dante,” They all acknowledged the new vampire’s presence, she giving a shy little hi as she followed Yuri into the cave. She turned back to touch Orion’s hair, Yuri quickly pulling her back into the dimly lit grotto.
Yuri glanced thoughtfully to Airy, small smile still in play. “Airy…want to play a game? I call it…” She gave a toothy smile. “Clean up.”
“Hmm…” Airy stared in wonder and suspicion. “I don’t know…what's that aboUT?!” Before she could finish her question, Yuri had picked her up and threw her over her shoulder, humming a bright tone as she quickened their pace. Airy made a face. “What are you doin-”
“Please…” drawled out Yuri, peering over a corner. “Do not be too surprised, the world has changed, not I. And, considering you were the most innocent one…and you are absolutely filthy, just think you need a little bath is all…”
She thought, then frowned. “…yuri…?” The two turned a corner, the moisture in the air building. Airy’s eyes widened. “Yuri…?” Now hearing the smallest sounds of water, heat lapping up to her feet, she shouted. “Yuri, if you throw me into the spring, I’ll never heal you again!!”
Yuri feigned a hurt expression, pausing as she started to heave the vampire into the pool. “Would you really do that? Not ever heal me again…?”
“Try me…” Blinked Airy, fingernails drumming along Yuri’s back moodily.
“Oh, alright,” Rolling her eyes, Yuri put Airy back onto her feet, smirking at her expression. It soon turned into a light chuckle, Airy following suit after awhile. Pushing her back slightly, Airy crossed her arms.
“Don’t do that, you had me thinking you were going to drown me.”
“Teasing, I was teasing,” Yuri pulled her arms up over her head, rolling her tongue over a fang. “Though…now that you are here, it is an idea. Progress through the cave at your own speed, I, on the other hand, will be outside. Take care.”
Casually waving bye, Yuri started back to the entrance, a voice springing up in the back of her mind skeptically.
Surprising…the body snatcher isn’t a complete and total b*tch after all.
Oh, I am, Yuri pushed open the door of the cavern, taking a deep breath of the brisk, cool air. She pushed away her smile, That was merely a playful bordering on nice attitude. Put it in a frame, you will never see me that pleasant again.
Clever little play on words, how long you had to scourge my mind for something like that? Long as I’ve been searching yours…? For a bite that you hated and wasn’t supposed to mean shit, seems as if that’s the second thing on your god damn-
SILENCE!! With her last word, Yuri ended the conversation, almost in a fear her mind could be read. Sitting down, she relaxed, watching as Dante made his way over to Orion.
“What are we gonna do for now?”
Yuri already had her own plans in mind. Once late enough, she would tour this mall Simone had been thinking of as she slept, that eventually leading into a night on the town. She would start reconnaissance on her target later, for now, she wanted to enjoy herself more than usual. Answering Dante’s question, she stared into the sky. “Wait for the stars…”
