if you dropped a lightsaber....

It could be built so that it still stays on even if they're not directly holding down the button.

obi wans lightsaber didnt magicly turn off he turned it off then a second later he disapeared.
and about the lava, lava has high viscosity meaning it flows slowly, so the fast falling lightsaber would pass the lava before the lava could reach it.

You dont have to be holding the saber for it to stay on. Hasn't anyone seen the moves you can pull in star wars games where you throw your lightsaber and then it boomerangs back to you? Holding the lightsaber isnt necessary for it to work

i agree.

those games are EU and every other lightsaber in the movies besides vaders has deactivated when dropped; and i still think hey just used the force to keep it on

I thought this fit more off topic than starwars.

If you dropped a lightsaber at a perfect 90* angle into the ground, it would fall all the way through the earth.

Thoughts? Comments?

The handle would keep it from falling through the earth, and even if it went through, once it got close enough to earths core the machinery would melt 😬 so no

It would stop after about 10 secs as they automatically switch themselves off when not in use ✅ IE: when not being held by a jedi
