I would never hide from you.... actually, I'm the other sort of Brit.... the sort who still believes in chivalry... I'd stand up and defend your honour, even if you didn't want me to... triumph over our shared adversary, and then apologise to you profusely for causing a scene.....
Most of us are just like everybody else.... but we do have our Little Englanders, with their snobby insular ways... and thugs and vandals like everyone else... but our country's saving grace is that we have quite a few who are stuck in a time warp and still believe that being polite and sticking up for the underdog is the best thing to do in the long run.... one thing I love about my countrymen is that when the chips are down even some of the worst of us do the best things....
