While many others may have more powers, Superman is written to be like a Messiah, like Jesus in a red cape... That's why I don't like him very much... He just seems too unbeatable, too perfect, too unrelateable...
But I do like when his powers just can't help the situation... Like world hunger, global warming, etc. It shows that Superman is vulnerable in some aspects...

lack of personality? i think that is incredibly unfair and untrue... he's restrained... he has the power of a god, and all he wants to do is fit in... to do this he must use an almost insane amount of control at all times... he does his best to be a good, that doesnt mean he lacks personality, it just means he holds himself up to very high standards, and does his best not to display whats going on inside... i do it too, so i can sympathize... 😬

but thats the thing, HE didnt paint himself that way, it was the media and the public who did, when all he ever wanted was to help people... and now he feels this huge sense of responsibility, because he doesnt want to let these people down...
he's not unbeatable by any means (martian manhunter, captain marvel, black adam, doomsday, darkseid, despero, green lantern could all take him down), he's not perfect (he just tries to show the outside world that their faith in him isnt misplaced, so he holds himself up to their standards), and i dont think he's unrelatable... he's a stranger, an outsider who just wants to (i know i said it already) fit in, who among us cant sympathise with that?
i saw x's post, and he does make some interesting points, though he also admits that he's not much of an expert on superman... 😛
And because he's one of the DC big 3(How WW gets more props than Flash or GL I'll never know) he gets to shine at the expense of those who are less popular. Someone used a mental attack on the JL & J'onn went down before he did. WTF!? Supes could see that stuff a long time ago. How come all of the sudden he's using it? SV seems like something he'da mentioned a long time ago.

yes, he is part of the big 3, and yes, he does get more focus than alot of characters, but in alot of cases, its warranted, because he is superman... he's number one, he's everything a hero should be...
i'm a huge fan of flash (well wally at least), and recently i've grown to love the green lantern series, and both of them have series' that rival and in some cases surpass the superman ones...
j'onnn has been portrayed as a bit of a jobber i'll admit, but superman does have an almost extraordinary willpower (he was easily able to use a GL ring recently), and as such is highly resistant to TP...
