So in the begging there is that old guy (Later we learn its Raoul) bidding for a music box (The phantom's) against a woman (who I think is Meg). Meg realizes what he plans to do with it, and lets him have it. So then it goes to the flashbacks of Christine and Meg at practice for the opera as ballarinas. The the Phantom drops the curtin on the bitchy lady and she storms off leaving them with no leading lady. So the old lady (Meg's mom) tells them to let Christine Daae sing 'Remmeber me' For them. She's so good they let her do it in the opera, and thats where her childhood sweetheart Raoul sees her. He instantly recognizes her. Then after she sings and the Opera's over, Meg is looking for Christine, and finds her. Christine tells him how her father has sent her the "Angel of Music" and it has taught her how to sing. So then she goes into her room and Raoul comes in. They reunite. Then he leaves and the Phantom appears to her, and he takes her down to his layer. She sees a manikin that looks like her in a wedding dress than faints. So then she wakes; up the next day and basically takes off the Phantoms mask, and sees his distortion. So he takes her back to the Opera house, and tells them to have Christine as the lead in the Opera, but htey put the bitcy girl as the lead, so he puts something in the spray to make her voice go crazy. Then he hangs that guy during the ballet. So Raoul and Christine run up to the roof and they sing how they love each other, but the Phantom is watching from the shadows. He gets jelous. Then they have the Masqure where we learn the Christine and Raoul are engagged. everyones dancing and singing before the Phantom shows up. He says he wants to help Christine with her singing some more, but then he sees the engagment ring on the necklace. He rips it off and tells her she belongs to him. Then he disapers through a trap door, and Raoul follows him. He ends up in a room of mirrors and sees the Phantom all around him. Then the rope drops down, but Megs mom comes and grabs him. She tells him the Phantom's past. Then basically Christine sneaks out to visit her fathers grave but the phantom shows up and he and Raoul sword fight. Right before Raoul kills him, Christine tells him not to. Then they leave, and they come up with a plan to kill the Phantom. But the plan goes bad when the Phantom comes on stage and starts singing with Christine. She takes off his mask, and he goes crazy. He cuts the rope holding up the chandilier, and it crashes into the stage. He takes Christine down into his lair again and Raoul follows. The phantom basically confesses his love for Christine and then ties up Raoul. He tells her she must chose between staying with him and letting Raoul live or him killing Raoul and letting her go. She choses to live with the Phantom, but then the phantom realizes he loves her too much to see her so sad, so her lets them both go. It shows him then listing to the music box, singing a song earlier in the movie about hiding your face, but Christine shows up. He tells her to leave, so then Raoul and Christine leave together, and the Phantom escapes. Then it goes to the old Raoul at Christine's grave, and he puts the music box there. But he also sees a single rose (The Phsntom's trade mark) with the engagment ring he ripped off her around it.
