okay, for one point...

when we were like, 8, there was this show on disney channel and it starred this african guy and it was like, an animal nature show. what was the name of the show?

I'm pretty sure this was my sister.

Akiera walked past the different trees, her mind doing the exact opposite. Her senses were reeling with and unseen menace. Her keen eyes flitted over the different bushes, searching the underbrush for some kind of a hint. Her hand rested lightly on the handle of her bow, an arrow held lightly in her left hand. Every muscle was tense, waiting for the time when quickness would be an issue.
Her elf ears were attuned to every sound of the forest. She could hear everything, from the growl of a forest bear, to the silent munching of a caterpillar on the top branches. The most disturbing sound of all, however, was the silent steps of a stealthy goblin, picking his way about the trees.
Her bare feet making not a sound as she stepped lightly around the tree, the goblin came into view. He seemed lost, unable to find his way in the darkness that Akiera was so uccotomed to. She blinked once, her eyes shining like diamonds in the blackness. She watched the goblin tense, silently stringing her bow. He stood up tall, then fell back to the earth, an arrow protruding from his chest. He fell without a sound, and the elf moved on.
Akiera moved threw the thick forest, taking paths only seen by her, and her alone. No one could rival the Wood Elves in their own realm, and she was no exception. Her eyes saw all, her ears heard all, and, unlike the other Elves of her clan, she could sense everything around her. She could not only hear the weaving of a spider’ web, but feel it in her toes.
There was something other than goblins in this forest right now. Akiera’s mind was racing, her vision seemed blurred, something was here. As she walked over the thick layers of pine needles, she felt tiny vibrations under her toes. A surge of heat accompanied each shift of the earth.
Ahead of her came a crash, almost as if a branch had broken off of a tree, but Akiera knew that something had caused it to fall. She flitted up into one of the trees, appearing any who watched to fly up the trunk to the upper levels. She looked down into a small glade, completely hidden in her green garb. Below her sat another goblin, this one larger than the last, and possibly smarter.
This goblin wore armor, different from the goblin she had felled. A strange marking was emblazoned on his chest plate, one she had never seen before. She grabbed her bow, but not in time for the goblin to completely disappear. One second he was there, and the next he was gone. Akiera’s sharp intake of breath fell short on the branches in front of her face. The glade fell completely silent once more.
Suddenly, the bows beneath the elf gave way, sending her crashing down among the branches. Thinking quickly, Akiera started running, running from branch to branch, tree to tree. Her feet barely rustling the leaves of each tree as she passed lightly over it. She seemed to float, as gently as a feather, over each and every glade.
She dropped down into the trees, only to find herself face to face with the same goblin. She stuttered, instinctively reaching for her bow, but the goblin grabbed her hand, pulling her closer to him. He shoved his face against hers, smirking and chuckling lightly. She could smell his rancid breath, burning her sensitive nose.

So, you thought you could get away, Your Highness? What will the High King think when he finds his daughter missing?

Akiera struggled in the goblins grasp, but his arms were to strong.

I have every right to wander my forest!

She spat in the goblins face, slipping lightly out from underneath him. She backed up a few steps, pulling out her bow and quickly stringing an arrow. She lifted the light weapon up, pointing its tip in the center of the goblins forhead.
A slight shiver ran down her spine as the goblin just smirked, shaking Akiera’s confidence more than a missed shot would have. She straightened her back, shoving his smile out of her mind, then loosed the arrow, but the arrow never found it’s mark. It flew silently threw the trees, sticking in a nearby trunk, and there it quivered. As for the goblin, he was nowhere to be seen.
Akiera’s eyes darted around the clearing, searching for the lost foe, but her keen eyes could not even detect a footprint. A loud crash sent the elf scampering up a tree, her nerves seriously shaken. She flitted over the tree- tops, heading for her home in the caves.
While she skimmed over the thick forest, Akiera’s eyes remained trained on the underbrush below, her ears attuned to the slightest sound. She searched while she ran, noticing even the shining eyes of a red fox feasting on grouse.
The elf stopped, her feet slipping for a few feet on the loose branches, and started to descend into the darkened forest. She could feel the brush of the soft pine needles against her face, assuring her everything would be alright, there soft whispers tickling her ears. She breathed deeply the strong scent of resin, taking glory in being with the trees.
She landed lightly on the ground, her feet barely making a sound. She cocked her head to the side, listening to the quiet rustling of the branches. A smile spread over her face as she listened, all thoughts of the goblin swiftly disappearing, but only for an instant. Then, she started making a rustling sound herself, waving her hand lightly. What followed was a full conversation, between a Wood Elf and the trees.
Suddenly, Akiera bounced up and down, giggling softly to herself. She bounded of threw the forest, following paths only known to her. Skipping through hip deep berry bushes as if they did not exist, passing by foxes and wolves without even catching their attention. Finally, she bounded through a curtain of branches into a small clearing, catching the eye of another young elf.
She stopped short, trying to stifle a giggle as she walked up to the elf. He had his foot caught in a bramble, and was just sitting there. For a minute her shining blue eyes met his glistening green ones, then she started cracking up laughing, only causing the other elf to start pouting.

Oh, don’t be such a baby Akye. What are you doing out in the woods without your bow anyway?

Akye flashed Akiera an evil look, sticking out his tongue as if he was sixty again.

I only came to fetch some meat from the cellar, Akiera. Now can you help me out of this before father gets mad?

Akiera giggled, but grabbed an arrow anyway. Using the sharp point at the end, she cut away the sticky plant from Akye’s ankle. Standing up straight, she looked at the elf.

Now, do you need me to help you to the cellar and hold your hand?

Akiera almost fell over laughing at the look on Akye’s face. His eyes flared with an intensity she did not often get from him. It gave her great satisfaction to get such a response.
Despite the elf’s protests, Akiera walked with him to the cellar, merely enjoying his company, and the fresh bait her provide. She teased him about his little mishap all the way to the cellar only quieting down when he entered the small wooden building itself.
When Akye exited the small hut, Akiera found herself suddenly unable to speak. She looked down at the ground, waiting for him to come to her side. She looked up slightly at his approach, then started on her way towards the caves, leaving Akye far behind her.
Akiera’s pace increased as she neared the realm of the Wood Elves, the memory of the goblin fresh in her mind once more. Whatever happened at the cellar remained at the back of her mind, taunting her with unkown feelings. She looked ahead, trying to concentrate on just the goblin, and not allow her thoughts to wonder to someone else.
She could hear the light patter of her feet on the fallen pine needles, she could see her breath coming up in small clouds of white mist in front of her face. She focused on these small items, just serving as distractions from the world around her. But despite all her efforts, she still found herself listening ever the harder for another sound, the sound of another elf’s footsteps.
She entered into yet another clearing, her feet laying gently on a carpet of moss. In front of her stood a large gold gate, blocking the dark entrance to a cave. The gate alone was majestic, it’s golden bars curving gently towards the sky. In the center was a small plaque, reading:
“The heart can see things invisible to the eye.”
Akiera reached up, muttering an elven cod under her breath. The gates slowly opened, the snakeheads that were the locks unhooked their tight coils. Slowly, ever so slowly, the large gates opened. Akiera slipped through just before they slammed shut, nothing majestic about it.
She stepped lightly into the dark cave, following a path only seen by her. Any other mortal who walked through these halls would easily get lost in the labyrinth of passageways.
Her shining eyes lit the way through the many passageways, her mind following a trail that it had know for so long. She turned corners into passageways completely invisible to the untrained eye. She walked in a darkness so deep, only an elf could find their way.
Akiera turned a corner into a lighted chamber. In the center sat another elf, older in years than Akiera or Akye. He sat proudly in a throne made of marble, his bright eyes shone with an intelligence that can only come with age. His brown hair fell to his shoulders, spinning off in many directions.
Walking up to the elf, Akiera focused her energy on remembering every detail of the fight with the goblins. Looking up at the elf, she spoke in the ancient tongue of the Elves, but with a lilting accent.

Your Highness, father. I am worried about the well being of our forest. For the last few months, as you have been aware, the goblins have been moving down from the mountains, but they have never dared even approach and elf. Today, in my wanderings, I found a bow

I had the "Show Off Your desktop" thread under my name. it was 45 pages,a nd it got merged with Tex's, which was dead, and only a page and a half (over 3 months dead.

Mine was created first, things like this happen all the time.

I was also pissed when it happened to me.

But Iw as tired that people kept on copying my threads all the time, So i put my foot down 😛

Thank You.

The Thread title and member name shall not chnage.

And like I just told you in PM, I DID a search for the thread title I used BEFORE I ever opened the thread. So it's hardly my fault that the silly name you picked didnt come up now did it? But if you really REALLY need to glom onto someone else thread that do well to make you feel better about yourself by all means go ahead.
